Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: Bosch 1613 vs router, plunge does not stay locked

It looks like according to the breakdown that there is a hex head bolt under the release lever that when removed can be tightened some to keep it from moving. Before removing anything when you lock it are you putting some pressure on the lock handle. I have one at work that I have to push some on to snug it. If so I would recommend going to Boschtools.com and typing in your exact model number and it will take you to a page where you can look at all the parts involved (about 4) but the operators manual doesn't tell me a thing about agjustments.

SOURCE: how to attach 'plunge lock lever' to Bosch 1617

I have been repairing the Bosch tools for quite a few years and I still hate putting those levers on. Unfortunatly, there are no "tricks", you just have to set the spring in the lever then use a small screw driver to set the other end in its slot. Then try to rotate the whole thing untill the lever goes into the proper notch. It usually takes me 5 or 6 times to get it in, sometimes it goes in first time (rare). Sometimes I'm at it for 1/2 an hour.

SOURCE: Old workhorse Bosch 1611 plunge router has a

I usually use a little heat to free up parts. If there are no plastic parts near it, use a heat gun on it.
The heat will expand the collet and let the bit come free. Be sure you don't grab the hot bit with your fingers! Been there, done that... Or, if you can get the collet free, put it in a bench vise and use a punch and hammer to knock the bit out from the under side.

As for the slide, I'm including a webpage from ereplacement parts for a schematic of the GOF1600 plunge router which is compatible with your 1611: http://www.ereplacementparts.com/bosch-gof1600-0601611061-router-parts-c-128_1119_9836.html

I think part 37 is what your describing. It's obsolete, but if you click on the name of the part in the parts list, you'll go to a page with the part listed. Under the picture you'll be given a list of parts that are compatible with your part.

I hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

The plunge lock "slips" when the router is used in a table

You can try to adjust the lever that moves the plunge and see if that helps, but a plunge router isn't made for upside use. If you have the option and use the router upside down often, you may want to get a fixed base.

A 2-horsepower motor is good for most people. A larger one is needed for professional work; while an even smaller motor is good for detail work.
