SOURCE: Moen Bath Tub Faucet

Hi varn4620,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your question is: You had to replace the faucet in the tub due to a broken plastic piece in valve stem. Bought a Moen ripped the wall out and put new faucet in. Went good untill we turned the water on and the shower rained on us. Tightened everything you could find to tighten .Every time the water is turned on the shower rains. Can this be fixed or is the faucet broken?

Is this new faudet a single handle? If so I"ve had this experience also. Most of the time it's because the guts were not lined up properly at the factory. You may have to play with it a bit.
Turn off the water and take the handle off and remove the sleave, remove and rotate the guts. Try 90' at a time. Turn water on to try it. Useually one of the other 3 positions will be right. The correct position is there, but it may take time to find it.

SOURCE: faucet issue

Sounds like it was installed upside down or the cartridge is installed improperly

SOURCE: I just installed a Glacier Bay tub/shower faucet

Hopefully you still have the directions - the diverter isn't set correctly.

I installed a Moen L2353E tub/shower faucet and water won't come out of shower head

Couple of ideas: If you don't get water at all first check to see if the shut-off valves are open. If so, close them and remove and clean the cartridge. If water comes from the spout and not the shower head, make sure the diverter (the handle on the tub spout) moves up when you pull it. If that works, remove and clean the shower head since there might be debris blocking the water flow. Without
more info this is my best guess.

I have no water coming out of faucets, tub but hear a gurgling and air when I turn them on, any ideas?

If you're on a city system, the water is shut off. If you're on your own well, you'll be out of water.
IMPORTANT! TURN OFF YOUR WATER HEATER, and don't turn it back on until your water is back.

We have a tuscany/Asti tub and shower faucet and we just installed it and when we turn it on the water starts coming out of the shower, without pulling the knob for the shower to turn on. Any ideas?

The knob is most likely binding or just stuck a little try putting a drop or two or oil, WD-40, or even cooking oil on the knob shaft, work the shaft up and down to spread the oil and see how it goes. Worse case you have a cracked knob shaft and then you will have to take it back where you bought it or see if they can give you a knob shaft and replace it, as I said worse case scenario. Good Luck...

Jsut installed a tuscany Asti Tub and Shower Faucet, when the mixer handle is centered and you are running thru tub spout, water still comes out of shower pipe. it does not do this if solely set to hot or...

Check the valve body to make sure it is right side up. there will be a marking on the valve that tells witch is to go to the tub spout and witch to the shower head. If you have it right then you will need to disassemble the valve body and look for debris in the cartridge.

New shower valve installed but can only get cold water seems to be an issue with a small cartridge inside the control

I have been searching the Internet for solutions to my problem which is that I get no hot water from my LDR Tuscany Brass Anti-scald, Pressure Balance Single Handle Tub and Shower Valve. I've determined that my manual does not match my valve exactly but I've been able to extract the cartridge and look at the insides. This valve was never in active use since installation so there was no mineral build-up. But a couple of years ago, our city mistakenly turned off our water shut-off valve in the street while trying to find a leak. Rust and particulates came rushing through our water supply pipes and contaminated almost every faucet we have so I think something might have happened to this valve at that time. Does anyone know if those screws on each side of the center of the valve are truly just "stop valves" and might be clogged up throwing off the balancing mechanism?

No cold water

Anti Scald Valves have an adjustment under the handle (remove handle) to allow so much hot water in no matter how far handle is turned. Its possible that the adjustment is set to allow only hot water in, this of course defeats the purpose of anti-scalding. Check to see if you can adjust this back. Good Luck have a Great Day. Please give a 4 THUMBS UP if this free answer was of any help.

I have a new moen single handle shower faucet that is only giving one temp of water (cold). Only if I have it on very slow will I feel hot water. Any idea how to fix

Did the hot water shut off get turned back on fully after the change? Is the hot water line kinked under the sink? Is the hot water shut off valve working?
