Black screen The LCD screen is black, with coloured strips in the midlle. In the begining the recorded images were reddish, after that green and at the end there are only coloured stripes. The recorded images stored on the card are OK.

I think I'm having the same problem, but I'm a little confused by your message, so I'm not sure. "In the beginning...reddish, end...stripes....images...OK." Seems contradictory. I'm having the display problem, too, but my image files are like what I see on the display, so I think I have the CCD issue that Sony describes at http://esupport.sony.com/perl/news-item.pl?news_id=118&mdl=DSCF717. They give instructions for obtaining a free (postage-paid!) fix. But if your images are okay, it sounds like you have a display-only problem that might not qualify. Anyway, check it out, and good luck.

Black screen

Usually when you see a reddish hue then black.....is indicative of an inverter or backlight failure. Hold the laptop up after it is started and look from the bottom toward the top. Try to shine a flasklight at the bottom of the screen upwards...see if you can see the windows startup screen or anything that gives an indication that the laptop is running and booted to where you can faintly see something on the screen. If you can barely make out an image, then 9 times out of 10 you need another inverter. There are rare occasions that a backlight bulb will fail, but this is rare and most backlight bulb failures are from shock damage. The inverter can be changed by simply removing the screen bezel, unplugging the inverter and changing it. If the bulb has been broken or burned out, it is more cost efficient to simply change out the lcd panel. The bulb sits in a channel under the lcd panels inside the aluminum framework. The panel has to be disassembled to remove it.

No image on LCD screen

It sounds like you're receiving partial information on the LCD screen and that the image sensor isn't sending information to the screen.

If you know the sensor is working by recording some video on an SD card and being able to view the recorded video on your PC, then there is a disconnect between the LCD and the image sensor.

If you are not recording video to your SD card and only get black images or no files, the image sensor is damaged.

If you are recording video, but no image appears on your LCD for internal viewing/playback, you can try a firmware update if one is available from www.insigniaproducts.com, but this is a discontinued item so there's not much available for support.

Hope this helps!

The colour on my TV is a reddish colour. Have tried the colour adjustment. Skin colours in particular.

simple. easy. you have 3 screen adjustments. red green blue. turn color all the way down. you should then get just a black and white picture, but in your case, it will still be reddish. behind the speaker grill is an access panel for screen adjustment. remove speaker grill. remove access panel. you will see a block assembly roughly 6 inches square with 6 knobs on it. 3 are for screen, 3 are for focus. adjust until you have a black and white picture. then go into menu and turn your color back up. enjoy!

Kodak camera shows me a blank/black screen

You have a bad CCD imager. Find a repair shop that can strip a CCD from a camera with a bad lens. This is the least costly repair.

The black is printing dark redish brown

Dear friend, your Black Ink Cartridge is Empty thats why your printer is using the Colour Cartridge to produce the Black Colour. This is the reason you are having Dark Reddish Brown colour instead of Black.

Does not print black

Most likely you have no black cartridge installed or it is empty causing your printer to use the colour cartridge for black. But if your colour cartridge has 1 colour which is less full than the others it causes black to become greenish or sometimes reddish depending on which colour is less. A new cartridge or a black cartridge will solve the problem.

Black/Green Distortion - Picture Quality - Wharfedale

This is no solution but a point in a probable direction.

A tech guy told me ALL the LCDs they have seen in their repair shop have "swollen" capacitors, this is due to voltage instability. Lowering the internal voltage regulator and replacing the swollen capacitors (which eliminate noise) apparently restores the LCD to new working quality. Without actually "seeing" my problem the tech said that should repair it. I have not tried this yet but eventually will begin that way.
