Question about Samsung HCJ552W 55" Rear Projection Television
Model HCJ552W...made in 2001
Had a power out while TV was on...power came back, but went on and off couple times before staying on.
TV of course shut off. When went to turn on, nothing happened. NOTE: There is a small front panel that cover AV ports. When I unplugged the TV from the outlet, the front panel door started to move down until the capacitance ran out. Each time I plugged and unplugged the TV, the panel would go down until it went all the way.
When plugged in ....I would go to turn on and would hear the clicking that was normal...even the humm of the tubes getting power, but then all would stop and shut off. Never got a picture or sound. Remote doesn't turn the set on or the button on the front of the set. I found two fuses on the power board and they tested good. Nothing seems to be blown. No burning smell, etc. No visual capacitors blown.
Can anyone give me some advice here? I am a computer tech, but know nothing of TV repair.
Dear friend you have a power supply problem, get one of those cheap meters and open the set, look for a blown fuse, if they are ok wich i doubt, you have to call the repairman.
