grill element is separate from oven element. i assume this is a fan oven. take rear panel off inside the oven and the oven element is exposed and you can often see the damage. toncheck properly, take the rear cover off outside the oven and terminals of the element are in view. check for continuity with a multimeter

SOURCE: Large oven doesn't heat up. Heating element gone??

Hi, In a word yes. As for who you can contact, I'd suggest only an authorized b/s/h (bosch/thermador/gaggenau) service provider. I used to be one for over 10yrs. but now work exclusively for sears...I'm not sure if I made a good choice or not yet, lol ! I digress. It is quite possibly not even the element as the gaggenau have cut-outs (they are actual thermal fuses that cannot be reset, they must be replaced) built into the bake circuit that can open often times. This of course unless you're certain the bake element is defective. Check your local directory under appliance service or a vendor who sells that line may be well equiped to direct you for quality service in someone they trust and are proficient. Hope that helps, good luck. macmarkus :)

SOURCE: replacing heat elements in oven

To replace oven heat element follow the steps below carefully
Turn off the power to the oven at the breaker box.

  • Step 2 Take out the screws holding the element bracket in place. These will be on the back wall of the oven, or sometimes on the top.
  • Step 3 Pull the element toward you a little bit until you see the wires behind it.
  • Step 4 Unscrew the leads and take the bad element out.
  • Step 5 Hold the new element up while you attach the wires to it. Don't stretch the wires any more than you have to.
  • Step 6 Line up the element while tucking the wires back in. Be sure not to pinch the wires between the bracket and the back wall.
  • Step 7 Fasten the brackets, making sure they're tight.
  • Step 8 Restore power to the appliance.
  • basically to install the elements , place it in the same position as the old one. Connect it the same way the old one was connected, using the same screws to hold it in place. Just about all the other components of an electric range or oven

    Delonghi range oven

Bake- Normal convection- both upper and lower heating elements.

Conv. Bake- Semi-forced convection- both upper and lower elements, heat is then distributed throughout the oven via the fan.

Broil- radiation- The heat is radiated by the ifrared broil element.

Broil & Fan- Radiation and Ventilation- The radiated heat from the infra-red broiling element is distributed throughout the oven via the fan.
