My maxim sandwich maker I think it's an old one but it sticks really bad when you start it up

If you use cooking spray on some no-stick surfaces, you will build up a layer of stuff(for lack of better terms) that will ruin your non-stick surface. You may be able to remove it with a little elbow grease, then find out what you can use for your particular iron.

Finish coating peeling off smooth side of both griddles plates

It could be a defect but then there's no way of proving that. Best to check that whoever has used it hasn't used metal implements/kitchen tools to lift foods off etc. Check with the manufacturer too.

Do you sell just the cooking surface on the sanyo HPS SG3 indoor grill. The coating has all come off. Thank You

No, sorry.

FixYa is an online information resource only and does not sell tangible goods of any kind. You haven't even stated the country and region/state you're in, so I can't even suggest a supplier.

For cleaning each of the cooking surfaces,do they release so they can be washed seperately.

Plates are not removable on this model. Having used several GF grills, I found that the easiest way to clean them was to clean the grates with a soapy towel as soon after cooking as possible; If it cools off the residue becomes solid and rather stuck-on. If you still have greasy residue, repeat cleaning with the soapy towel. (NOTE: Dawn soap works best; feel free to squirt it on to the grill and wipe clean, then rinse - it worked for me!)

I have a George Foreman grill model GR0072P. We have had it for several months and a couple of days ago I decided to wash the plates in dishwasher after checking the instruction manual. It stated that...

What you have is rightly identified as oxidation, or unless your dishwasher is funky,I believe. And can be removed by using some fine grit sandpaper 360 or above should do. Do not use it on the triple nonstick plated side. If it is oxidation, at early stages, it will be just a white powdery looking surface. But heavy oxidation will develope into pits because the plates are made of aluminum. After you sand the powder off, wash the plates good in your sink and make sure to get all of it rinsed off because you will not want that on your food at all. I also say that you should take those plates to the sink for washing in the future and don't use any cleaners on it nor scrubing pads. You can push the food that is stuck on them easy enough with your fingers. Hope this helps!

Teflon finish is bubbling

unfortunately this is a common problem among these grills, your only option is to replace it unless you have an extended warranty... if you want to keep using it, you can use a scotchbrite or similar metal pad to get rid of most of the teflon coating. if you want to replace it because you love electric grilling and don't much like teflon flakes in your food, i would recommend that your next grill have stainless steel or cast iron grilling surfaces..

hope this helps,

Non-stick surface damage

Contact these guys and they should be able to supply replacement grill plates cheaply; In general the current view is that low quality aluminium alloys, when used for cooking can put enough aluminium into the food over a long period of time to POSSIBLY influence certain conditions such as alzheimers disease, amongst others. There is a certain amount of aluminium in many things we eat or drink, regardless of what it is cooked in. If you use the grill every day then i would recommend replacing the plates, especially if the aluminium itself is becoming pitted, however I have used similar, lower quality grills before with coating worn and haven't gone mad yet. If in any doubt then replace the plates, but i think you are being over cautious here. If you find that food is now sticking to the grill, try grilling half a handful of salt with a little vegetable oil for 10 minutes or so, spread over the whole plate - a certain amount of "non-stick" can be achieved like this, although if cleaning the plates with detergent, this will soon need doing again. Hope this helps :)
