Question about XO Vision XOD1742BT Car DVD Player

1 Answer

Radio sound goes on and off--the closest radio stations won't even pick-up. If you bump the side of the unit it will play GREAT for a short, very short time just fine then back to on and off soun

When we checked the fuse box--cleaned them all up it worked perfectly for about 2 min. then went back to the same problem. If you move the wires around under the hood--can get better then worse again. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank You, Jackie

Thank You Very Much...I have suspected all along that the wiring could be the issue. Do you know where I can get the wiring installation instructions? Or better yet, where I can get drawings that show how the wiring is suppose to be? Thank You!

Sounds like you have a loose wire, what wires are you moving under the hood... do you mean behind the head unit? i'd trace each wire individually until you find one that has a poor connection, if they have wire crimps on them so you can't tell, cut them off one at a time and re-crimp them/twist them together.

Yes you have to have an antenna. Does the car not have one originally? If you changed the radio you would have unhooked a large black wire in the back of it. Or maybe it just came unplugged. Anyways without one it won't pick up ****. Good luck

you can look for a radio shop to repair the cd player it would be cheaper to install a aftermarket radio they do have kits if you have steering wheel controls

My 2002 chevy malibu's radio seems to be shorting out, the radio will work fine but randomly the sound shuts off the radio still shows the radio station and even says which artist is playing but there...

I'd suggest using the balance and fade controls to cut out each speaker one by one. to possibly determine if you have shorted speaker or speaker wiring. As far as the turn signal clicking noise, the hazard switch is the actual flasher unit for the turn signals, and could be the culprit, but the most likely cause is the turn signal switch itself. It is usually caused by corrosion across the contacts, which can be cleaned out fairly easily, but more typically, the switch is just replaced

Hello - I've had my SKYFi2 receiver for about 4 1/2 years. For the past 6 months it cuts in and out, as in, plays the station that I'm on, then it stops and just says "antenna". ...

Hi Kathy,

It sounds like its the antenna, although it could be the docking station itself, or even the receiver. The best way to narrow it down is by testing against other equipment (if you happen to have other docking stations and or antennas) If it produces the same result you know its the radio. If you swap antennas and it works, obviously the antenna; and the same goes for the docking station. You can find replacements at
