All lights on

Hi, i have a netgear WGR614 wireless router and at some point all the lights remained on and the router stopped working. Unpluged and pluged again but didn't reboot.. all lights remained on as soon as i plugged the power cable in. Tried to hard reset it but it won't respond... no light flashing no nothing... is there something i can do to "unstuck" it?

Thank you in advance

When I connect my router to my modem, I lose internet connection. Also, all the lights on the router come on and stay on. I've tried to reset the router, but all the lights stay on.

There is some combination of holding the reset button and unplugging the router at the same time that worked for me when i was on the phone with support....now i am trying to fix it again and having trouble.  I would try that before buying a new router....you may have to do it several times though

I had the same identical problem. I spent two days trying to restore communications.

It was a simple fix...so simple I was kind of embarrassed to post it...well I decided that it might help others so here was my fix:

I at one point must have plugged in the wrong transformer....this causing it to keep all the lights on (except for the wireless and test light).

Looked frantically for my transformer marked Netgear...plugged it in and presto...it worked like a charm.

Hope this is your problem.

Netgear wgr614 v9 not working. no power light. only a buzzing noise when plugged in.

Stop using the device as the buzzing noise is likely going to be a fire hazard. You will be better off recycling the device and purchasing another. It cannot be repaired.

Netgear WGR614 password wont work

Hi,

If password is not working of router then please folow steps
RESET THE ROUTER:

1. Make sure router is connected to power supply and is on while you perform the task below. At the rear panel of the router, near the antenna, there is a very small round pinhole that contains the reset button.
2. Using a pen/pencil/paper clip, hold the reset button for 60 sec. so that the test light starts flashing.
3. After few seconds when the test light stops flashing. Turn off the router and turn it back on after a couple of minutes.
I hope the steps above will help resolve the issue.

Thanks for using Fixya

Network Key for netgear wgr614

Hi, taffy_man, the network key is something you configure yourself. If you dont know it you have to RESET the router to the factory defaults.
Take a paper clip, or something sharp, and insert it into the little reset hole in the back of the router, and hold for 15 seconds or so, that'll reset the router. Wait for all the lights to stop flashing and remain on, then try to connect to the internet.
Or you could type www.routerlogin.com into your internet address bar and it'll ask you for the username and password, the defaults are admin and password..
If that doesnt work do the same thing but first disconnect the power cable. Then while pressing the reset button THEN connect the power cable again but keep the reset button for 10 secons and then go to the routerlogin.com or (192.168.1.1) and do what I wrote above. Then you will have to reconfigure your settings. I hope this helps.

My power light on my Netgear WGR614 wireless router keeps blinking & will not allow me access to the internet.I have unpluged it, pressed the reset button & the light keeps blinking.Any thoughts?

Maybe you had a power surge.

The reset button does nothing with the router powered off, basically you hold the reset button in for 30 seconds with the router powered on. Following this you will need to set up the router again as all settings will be reset to factory defaults, from the sounds of it though the router may be dead.

Another reset method is as follows;

1. With the router powered off hold in the reset button,
2. Keep the reset button in, power on the router, wait 30 seconds,
3. Keep the reset button in, power off the router, wait 30 second,
4. Release the reset button.

Did you have wireless disabled?

If you have access to a multimeter check the PSU is working correctly.
