Janome MC 3000 top thread tension is very loose

Normally that happens when your fabric is too thick and is lifting the presser foot, when the thread did not get between the tension disks when you threaded it. (usually because it was threaded with the foot down) Or because the tension knob was turned by a kid that was playing with your machine. It should be at number 4 to 6. Either way, unthread it completely and rethread it and see what happens.

I want to sell my 1991 New Home memory Craft 8000 sewing machine

A good place to see what machines are selling for is Ebay. That's where I sold a sewing machine and an embroidery machine.

It helps to know your product and machine embroidery lingo.

What are cassettes? Floppy disks? These make the machine borderline obsolete.

Memory cards are still around, but most EM now have USB connectivity or USB flash drives.

Satin thread? Embroidery machines use Rayon or Polyester embroidery thread.

Having had the machine recently serviced is also a plus.

Janome 4800 mc looping underneath

Un-thread the machine.

Remove the needle plate and carefully inspect the bobbin case for any nicks in it. It is made of carbon fiber and can be lightly polished with 1500 grit sandpaper.

Place the bobbin case back in making sure that it rests in the proper position. (In the 5 o'clock position is a bumper to prevent the bobbin case from twisting too far.)

Thread the machine making sure that the take-up lever is threaded.

Set the upper tension to AUTO.

Use Mettler or Gutermann thread for good results.

Mc 5700 problem

Hi,

You don't have much info here to go on. I take it that it embroiders fine otherwise, ie on the built in designs. Is it a Janome card? Does it do it on a particular card / design? Have you changed the bobbin thread that you use? Check the top tension - even though it is 'automatic', it does require adjustment at times. Have you changed / using stabiliser that you use? Is the bobbin correctly threaded?

Check these things
