If its confirmed that the sender really sent it a couple of hours before then most probably the problem lies in your service provider rather than your phone.

SOURCE: I have a new email that won't delete

Bryan,

Once you receive an email that has no sender and subject. It's confirmed that it's a Spam Message. Never open it once you receive it again. Most Spam message contains malicious contents and virus that would destroy either the computer or your handheld. The senders intended not to put their email addresses to hide their origin. Their activity is ILLEGAL!

The best thing that you need to do is to contact your e-mail provider (i.e. msn.com; aol.com; gmail, usa.net) and see on how you are going to set a filter that would block that Spam Message.

There are some email providers that suggest their users to report the spam message into a certain Web site. That web site is a government agency that tracks down the sender.

What is the process to delete unwanted emails ?

if you're receiving junk mail from a legitimate source, they will always include an "unsubscribe" link in the fine print at the bottom of the message somewhere. click that. often you can reply to unwanted messages with the words "unsubscribe" or "remove" in the subject line to be removed from the mailing list. if the messages are pure span, you can block the sender with your e-mail client (e.g., Windows Live Mail) if you're using one or through your provider's web-based e-mail interface if that's how you access your messages.

How do I block incoming e-mails

You can block incoming e-mails from a specific person or from all email coming from a specific email provider by using Yahoo Mail\'s filter function.

Open an email from a sender you want to block. Look at the toolbar above the message. You\'ll see "Delete, Move, Spam, More". Click on "More".

A drop-down menu appears. Just under "Print", you\'ll see "Filter Emails Like These..." Click on that.

Name: Fill in the name of the person or leave it blank.

The boxes for Sender, Recipient, Subject, and Email Body all have the same dropdown menu:

How to use these dropdown menu choices: For example, if you want to block every email from an email account at aol.com, you could choose "ends with" and type in "aol.com". The other options work in similar fashion. You could use the "Subject" field to block all messages about, for example, "college reunion" or "Viagra" or "pron".

Click on the last item, "Then move the message to:" to see a list of all your email folders. If you never want to see messages from blocked senders, choose "Trash" and Yahoo! Mail will delete the message before you ever see it.

Bonus: Once you\'ve learned how to use filters, you can also set up a folder called, for example, "Family". Then you can open an email from a family member, click on the "More" and then the "Filter Emails Like This..." options and you\'ll see the person\'s name and email address filled in. Simply change the "Then move the message to:" to your "Family" folder, and Yahoo! Mail will always file all your family email messages in one folder. To read them, open the folder and you can easily find all family email messages in one place.

Delete emails without opening

You can set-up your Apply Rules function in the Mail Preferences. It is supposed to perform which ever action you have set to your emails as they are retrieved and loaded into Mail from your mail server. To do so;
Open Mail. Press Command and , (comma) at the same time, or select Mail in menu bar (the upper right corner beside the Apple). Then select Preferences. A pop-up window will appear, select the last button on the right called Rules (looks like an envelope with multi arrows pointing upward and outward. Select Add Rule. Give it a descriptive name or levee it at the default Rule 2 or 3 ... whatever. Leave the next choice alone it defaults to any. in the next area you can choose a number of different parameters pending your needs (or info best suited). If the emails in question always come from the same address or always have the same sender or same subject, well you choose the best suited and then if it contains or doesn't contain etc. You will find if you have a email selected before this step it will start to automatically enter things in the field after contains such as the address or the sender name or the subject etc. Then where it defaults to Move Message you need to change it to Delete Message (for deleting) or you could choose a different option. If you have numerous addresses or senders or subjects etc. you do not need to make a new rule every time just click the top plus button and enter the info. Then click OK and it will ask if you want to apply the rules right away.

Most, like yahoo, outlook etc have it built into the settings when using their accounts directly and if you do it there Apple's Mail will never see them.

Sort messages in gmail by sender's name?

Hi,

One feature, I often miss in Gmail is its ability to sort messages. By default, Gmail sorts mails by date, which doesn't do a great job in organizing your inbox. There is no facility to sort mails by name, subject, size and sender. Consider this scenario where sorting of mails can be very useful : You were on vacation and on returning found thousands of unread mails, and now you want to see only the unread messages by your boss between the specific dates.

Thanks.

Digital sending

This accurs at our location from time to time. Due to the use of GroupWise e-mail; on some mailboxes settings or some messages were added to Junk mail or Blocked mail settings... Receipient actually did receive but settings in Junk Mail or Blocked mail deleted the e-mail before it was received. This only has to be something simular to subject sent by Digital Sender.
Solution: have receipient empty all Junk mail settings.
