SOURCE: MY DENON DRA-435 A RECEIVER
These recievers were infamous for the power transformers going bad(opening) if more than 2 speakers were hooked up and it was cranked up.Did it die while playing?Do you have 4 or more speakers hooked up?Was there a power surge?Let me know........
SOURCE: denon receiver (DRA 397) will not speak to iPod dock
IF YOUR NOT USING A DENON IPOD DOCKING STATION IT WILL NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY.
YOU CAN CONNCET OTHER TYPES OF IPOD DOCKING STATIONS BUT YOU WILL NOT HAVE CONTROL THROUGH THE DENON AND ONLY CONNECT THE AUDIO FOR THAT DOCKING STATION TO THE DENON AS ANOTHER SOURCE INPUT
SOURCE: Denon DRA-37 Receiver-Remote lock on. Need to unlock.
Refer to the "Initialization of the Microprocessor" section of the manual (page 16 of the PDF version of the manual).
1) Turn the unit OFF using the On/Off switch (not the standby switch).
2) Depress both the Speaker A and B switches, and turn the Power ON.
3) The entire display should flash at 1-second intervals. The microprocessor should be reset, and the remote should be unlocked.
I also had this problem with my Denon DRA 395. I fixed it by replacing the batteries in my remote! Apparently when the remote batteries are nearly gone, but not 100%, they are capable of prompting the remote to unilaterally increase the volume at irregular intervals. It was kind of spooky!
