HP Laserjet 3330mfp - Printing dark pages

I am trying to fix a used HP Laserjet 3330mfp. Scanner works good, but, the printer is printing pages that have 7 dark lines across it and it's pretty dark in the middle top to bottom.

Several Options:
- Increase the Toner Density Level to 5
- Use freshly opened media
- Use a new print cartridge, if near end of life
- Run a cleaning page to clean the fuser

You may be having a problem with the cleaning blade that is in you toner cartridge. You will have to replace the toner cartridge.

SOURCE: HP Laserjet 3330 printed dark page especially around the middle

Does this happen both when copying and printing?
For printing solution, try another toner cartridge.
If lines continue to appear when copying (primarily through the automatic feeder) then lift the auto feeder, and clean the glass -mainly the narrow piece on the left side.

if the band is white, you may have a problem in your laser scanner assembly, if the band is black, you may have a problem in your fuser assembly

Here is how to cold reset the machine. also I added some addtiona options below as well.

1 Unplug (or turn off) the product from the power source.
2 Press and hold down the * and menu/enter keys.
3 Continue to hold down the keys while you plug back in (or turn on) the product, through the entire power on sequence.
4 When the control panel display reads Permanent Storage Init. release the keys.
5 Allow the product to return to Ready before using the product.


If that doesn't work it can be a power related issue,
- Make sure it's NOT plugged in to a surge protector.-
- Try a different outlet on the wall.
if theses steps fail you will most likely have to replace the scanner assembly

Another Option you can try as well :
Also I found this on a HP forum NOT SURE IF IT ACTUALLY WILL WORK:
" Scanner Bulb Walkout - Unplug the power from the unit,plug the power back in wait until the unit reads "Scanner Bulb Warming Up" Unplug the unit. Repeat this step 5 times.
This should move the scanner assembly back to its home position.
"

Printing too light


For understand the issue, little bit technical knowledge required: Take half test page, check how much dark image formed on paper, check on cartridge drum how much dark image created?..(half test page: while printing half of the page switch off the printer, take cartridge out as well as take half printed page)If half page print quality is good on paper: Fuser faulty(teflon sleeve)If half test page print not good & image on drum is OK: Fault with Transfer roller or its bios voltage contacts..If there is proper image on paper & image drum: Problem with laser scanner assembly..find the problem, then remedy is easy..

The scanner bulb goes back and forth about an inch in hp 3330 prt


The scanner blub mirror needs to be cleaned and possibly the underneath side of the scanner glass. The scanner is not finding the marks to make it function correctly.

Hp Laserjet 4 Plus printing very light - second post


Your description indicates that the problem is with the printer driver settings.
Go to Start, Control Panel, Printers and check the setings for Economode and ReT. The should both be off or Economode=off and ReT set to Med or Dark.
This should fix the problem. Let me know if this works or not and we can try something else.

Fax confirmations printing dark


change the toner cartridge , if it doesn't solved your probleme then it is probably that you have a defective Laser/scanner ( turning on laser continuously )

It sounds like a defective toner cartridge. Try replacing it. If that does not cure the problem, then the fuser assembly needs to be replaced, in which case it is probably cheaper to buy a new one.
