Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional With Servise Pack 2 (e8503040) for PC

1 Answer

Aol i am using AOL for more that a year now on my HP laptop with XP as its os, I'm staying in the middle east, on my HP laptop i can visit sites which is normally denied access in where i am, I bought Toshiba Satellite with pre-install Vista, installed AOL succeesfully and used it, but it is annoying that the site i can access with XP OS, is being denied with VISTA, i guess it has something to do with VISTA security, but I don't know what it is and VISTA is not telling.

What security software and or anti-virus software are you using?

If it maybe due to the location of where you are. There are such things as "bouncers" or proxy servers... etc..

You would be able to access one place that could access another but you would just appear as you were only accessing the 1st place.

    G'luck

Just signed up for free tral through aol and Im unable to down load softwear program.it indicates "the contents of this file cannot be unpacked".i spoke with an aol rep.and they directed me to this site...

The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. This means that the executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted.
  1. Obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again.
  2. Another option is to request a CD from AOL, which is free.
  3. The only other option I can think of is to download the AOL setup from the Alternate AOL Download site here: http://daol.aol.com/software/95-alt/?icid=roadie_95landing
  4. You could also try downloading this file from another computer with a good internet connection.

I have a few names in the drop down window when signing into AOL that I would like to remove

If you are using the AOL software, the names listed on the Sign On window are all the screen names on your AOL account. The names cannot be removed from the list unless you actually delete the names from your AOL account. If you would like to keep the names on your AOL account, then the names will have to stay on the Sign On window.

Hi, don't worry! As far as I know, there is a AOL password recovery tool named IM Password Unlocker, which is a professional Instant Messengers password recovery software to recover Windows Live/MSN password, recover AOL password and Google Talk password.

HOW DO YOU DELETE AN AOL EMAIL ACCOUNT?

Hi,
This is directly from my AOL Help Section... good luck since they are a pain in the behind to actually get them to change anything reguarding the account.

We hope you've enjoyed being an AOL member and that we can help you again in the future. For security reasons, AOL accounts cannot be cancelled either online or through e-mail. You can get your AOL account cancelled either through phone, U.S. mail or fax.

To cancel your AOL account over the phone, all you need to do is call AOL® Member Services at 1-888-265-8008. You can speak to our representatives to get your account cancelled. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You can also request the cancellation of your AOL account through the U.S. mail. Just send your request to:
AOL LLC
PO Box 65100
Sterling, VA 20165-8800

If you prefer sending in your request through fax, please send it to us at 1-703-433-7283.

Notes:

If you choose to write or fax us, please include a brief note stating the nature of your request, the primary billing contact's full name, phone number, address, and handwritten signature.
In addition to that, for account security purposes please provide any one of the following:
The master screen name of the AOL account
The last four digits of the current method of payment (for your security, please include only the last four digits)
The answer to the account security question of the master screen name
Cancellation will take effect within 72 hours of receipt of your request and AOL will send you e-mail confirmation. Please note that AOL LLC reserves the right to charge and collect fees, surcharges or costs incurred before your cancellation takes effect. Thank you for using AOL.

Thanks
proton
