Re: Pioneer PRO-530HD

Its really hard to say if its a major problem or not. I think anytime a circuit part goes bad thats its a major problem, because these sets HAVE NO USER REPLACEABLE PARTS inside so you should call out a trained technician, as theres alot of High Voltage inside these sets and also this is not a place for an experimenter or a handi-person to be messing around in. Your problem if you are a tech and Know the HI voltage saftey issues is most likly in the standby or main power supply... Good Luck

both may be a little hard to find anymore, the main problem is dead set and that is bad soldering all over the giant power supply board this set uses.

What's your problem?Pioneer PRO-530HD 53 in. Rear Projection Television flashing red standby light

This and a few other models like it have one real common issue:

they develop from age and heat bad solder connections all over the power board (rather large board).

My experience with them is the fix usually is remove rear cover and follow power cord to power board (a lot of plugs to mark) and remove that board----then solder every single connection on the board which by the way has some special fuses on it.

Have a Pioneer pro elite 730hdi. When you try to turn it on (main power, not standby), the tv cycles from the red (standby) light with the normal click to the green light, then one second later, it cycles...

Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like, to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Hoping this will help in solving the problem....

I have multiple colors on the screen of my 530hd pioneer elite TV when it warms up. When I try to adjust the convergence I am unable to move the red line far enough to converge on the blue or green line.

The convergence of your tv is defective try to replace it. You will find the convergence chip inside your tv, try to open the back cover of your tv but be sure to unplug the tv first. Try to look the large aluminum plate it is the heat sink, your convergence chip is attached to that heat sink it has a marking of stk-*** followed by a number you should remove it from the pcb using a soldering iron, and soldering pump but be very careful you might damage the pcb and may caused another fault to your unit. Or you can contact a service technician to save you from stress. Good day and best regards.

Pioneer 65" TV Model # SD-643HD5 won't power up.

I would suggest replacing the board itself, chances are what caused those fuses to blow is still faulty. did you check those fuses again after you powered it back up?

If you would like to diagnose this with help from a support tech you can get the service manual emailed to you after purchase at the following link and they provide free tech support to help you diagnose and repair the set.
