hi have you set your onkyo receiver if you have connected your hdmi lead to the receiver and an hdmi from receiver to tv you need to assign these connections via the menu on the receiver first then you will get a connection
The connection order can be a key issue as to whether or not the HDMI
signals will pass through the system. For best results the receiver
should be turned on first, then the source device(s) and then the
display. The reason for this has to do with getting the equipment to
handshake properly for the HDCP protocol.
If HDMI video will not pass through your receiver, you may with to just connect the xbox using the component cables. Since component will pass through 720p and your TV is 1080i you should expect the same qualtiy and a more crisp picture.
Check speaker cables are in the right way as ONKYO amps have the conections side by side not up and down like most amps, also if you are useing hdmi leads go to the hardware set up in the menu and turn off the audio out for hdmi.
hope this helps.
ok sounds simple you ran the lines threw the tv instead all lines should be ran threw the sterio
see once you turn tv off this cuts the outputs out so now no sound will happen
your sterio should be equipted to take inputs of tv
you want everything to be inputed threw receiver thats why they call it a receiver the outputs on tv goto inputs on receiver
you need to redo your wireing so that this which i described is correct again
