Where can I get replacement blade unit for Farberware/Salton blender model FBL500SS??

Available replacement parts for your blender are normally available online at the following site:

http://www.directpartsandproducts.com/blenders-fbl500ss-c-61_171_884_885_888.html

Unfortunately I do not see that a blade unit is available. I would recommend you contact this supplier directly to inquire whether a compatible blade is available.

Seems like motor has lost power

This sounds like the black rubber coupler has broken. The teeth often get knocked off. Have a look at the part shown in hte pictures here:

Can't loosen to wash blender .I turned to the right in direction of arrows Won't budge

Run the bottom plastic piece under hot water for a couple minutes and then put a dish towel over it so you can get a good grip, and turn 'CCW' (counter clock wise) to loosen.

How do I change to clutch on this blender. The outside of the clutch broke off leaving just the screw head on the blender, when I turn to unscrew it, the entire piece just spins, any suggestions.

You can probably use a Vise-grip pliers to clamp down on the brass insert and unscrew it. Not only is it on very hard, but it is also threaded reverse of a normal screw. This is so it does not come undone in normal operation.

You have to turn it counter-clockwise to unscrew it (a regular screw turns clockwise).

I had to clamp the motor shaft real tight with a bench vise to be able to remove the clutch. Hope this helps.

Top part of base broke off

This just happened to me too, and I think I just fixed it.  First you have to get a replacement part called the "blender coupling" (I got mine online from Goodmans for $3.99).  I also replaced the square drive and slinger (two parts come together for $2.99)-that's the little part that sticks up and attaches to the pitcher.
Unscrew the bottom four screws of the base where the rubber feet are.  Remove the rubber skirt to reveal four screws that hold the motor in.  They are way in there so you'll need a long screw driver.  Remove the motor and unscrew the old coupling.  Mine had not been replaced since my grandmother bought this blender who knows when, so the coupling was really stuck.  I did not have a tool narrow enough to get a good grip to apply enough torque to remove the coupling so I had to try a few other tricks.  If your blender is the same, remove the bottom nut, fan blade and two washers.  This gave enough of a rod to grip to get the old coupling off.  (I also had to use some WD40, and heat and cool the coupling a few times to break the old seal).
Good luck!  Hope that helps!
