-   I have had three of these machines. The first one was bought at Future Shop last September. It was problematic from the start. The Video tapes would get stuck and couldn't be ejected. I tried to get
Samsung to replace it but they said they would only replace it with a reconditioned unit so I took it back to Future Shop and got a new one. That second unit started exhibiting the same problem within a couple of months so this time I had to deal with
Samsung. The sent me a new replacement unit in March. That one didn't have any problems until a week ago at which time it would not longer read DVDs properly. I called
Samsung and the said too bad, its out of warranty now and your on your own. Their warranty extends one year from the date of initial purchase no matter how recently the replacement unit was manufactured.
Cleaning the head repeatedly did no good. A firmware upgrade did no good.
Basically these machines are garbage. Even when they work the picture quality is abysmal. I would strongly recommend everyone to avoid buying DVD recorders from
Samsung.-
