Speakers are not working

I have a hp pavilion mx704 desktop computer. But my speakers don't work. They were working fine before. My speaker is a 12V/1A speaker. Please help me solve my problem. My windows media player and i tunes also don't work and my CD's don't give out audio. I have checked everthing. The speakers are plugged in, and they are not in Mute all too.

My speakers worked fine last week. Nothing has been moved except when I dusted. I can turn my speakers on and the blue light is on. Can't hear anything out of the speakers. I don't know how to see if something in the system is wrong. How can I check the volume of things.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Yes it does! Most desk top units do need external speakers. Your computer has integrated audio on the motherboard and a speaker output jack.

Go into the device manager and see if the sound card drivers are installed. If not then you'll need to install the drivers for them.

HP Pavilion desktop speakers not working after move

1) click start\run, type devmgmt.msc press enter
Devices manager shall appear, check if there are any unrecognized devices (yellow icon)
check if voicecontroler is installed properly

2)check if sound in your PS is not muted

3)check if your speakers are connected to right output (seems to be ok)

4)check if your speakers are powered

no more tips in my mind for now
