Question about Acer Aspire Computers & Internet
Click Start--> right-click on computer, then click "manage" Once the Computer Management screen opens, click on "device manager" in the left-hand pane of the window. In the middle pane, there should be an icon that represents your computer, and underneath that icon will be a series of icons that represent different types of components.Click on an empty spot in the middle pane, and you should notice that the icon that represents your computer (not the one labeled "computer, the one above that) should be highlighted. If it's not, click it one time to highlight it. Then click Actions-->Scan for hardware changes. When you do this, it should detect your webcam, and launch a wizard to reinstall it. Allow it to connect to Windows Update if it asks to, so that it can search for the latest driver. But it should have a driver locally already, since you just had it installed. Once you complete that wizard, your camera should be installed again.

Ok You can plug in your web cam and then go into your control panel to the add new hardware and click on that if you are using Xp make sure cam is plugged in and you are online click the add new hardware icon. That should install the drivers for the cam just make sure you are online. If not can you find the Cd that cam with your web cam? some don't come with one so it should work by doing steps above. If that don't work go into your device manager and see if you notice any yellow question marks, if you see any click on the device it mark is by and go into properties and update make sure your online when you do this. I hope it works for you, If not let me know and I'll try to help asap Ok and Happy Holidays to you and yours.

This is a common propblem. There is a fix. Google Acer web cam problems and read some of the forums. They give several links to fix the problem, you may have to try several before finding the right one. Don't worry if it says the driver is for a different model, I had 5000 series here at my shop a few weeks ago and the 9300 model driver fixed the problem.

go into device manager find the camera uninstall it then get out your system disk restart the computer and reinstall it see if that corrects your problem. It sounds like the driver got corrupted
