Question about ViewSonic VX2433WM 24 inch LCD Monitor
That type of issue is usually caused by a failure of the power supply board but it is easy to repair. There are parts called capacitors that overheat on short out. Here is a link to a page showing what capacitors are and how to tell if they have failed.
When they die the power supply can't put out the correct voltages to run the monitor so you get the back lights but no display. The model uses the IPLI-107 power supply board.
Here is a link to a kit with the correct capacitors to repair that board.
