Could you supply the model number of the GP63? I have not been able to find the manual using the name "GP63". Possibly the model number of the radio would help.

The GP-63 and the GP-68 uses the same users manual. You can download the user manual which also has programming and cloning information in it from:
http://www.batlabs.com/2way.html and choose GP-63......Good luck

Does anyone have a manual for the Radio Shack / Tandy / Micronta 63-3002 metal detector?

I was out at event with my Nokta Legend at the weekend!

My first detector was a Radio shack in 1988. I think it had three dials, one for Volume, one for Sensitivity, and finally one for Discrimination, Ferrous one way, Non Ferrous the other and All Metal around the 12 o'clock mark. And the Red Button in the handle tip.

There isn't a manual available, but this post explains what the red button does and sounds the equivalent of Ground Balance / EMI Cancellation to zero the meter.

Motorola gp 68

Batlabs at http://www.batlabs.com/2way.html (Hand Held Radios) has the GP-68 users guide(Operation Guide), on the right side I think what you might be asking is in "Basic Operation 2", if not look into the Programming section below it.

Tone squelch

Here is a link to download the user manual for the GP68 http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/MOTOROLA/GP68%20RADIO%20TRANSMITTER-_E

On your first radio, the one we've been discussing, I believe you have the DPL code set incorrectly. Your radio will go up to the number 126, but this is not the DPL code's number. It is simply a numbering system.

If I read the chart correctly:
DPL 205 equals the number 072.
DPL 023 equals the number 043.

Disclaimer: This numbering system listed in the user guide does not follow any common numbering system. I have other TPL/DPL charts which differ. The above reference is only based on what I have read in the user guide.

I am confident if your radio worked previously at another job site, using other frequencies/PL codes, that your only issue at this time is programming.

As for your unlock issue on the other GP68. Your radio may be in need of repair. The internal button is possibly wornout or has been depressed too far, and is bent on the board beyond the point of functioning.
