I don't think that it is true.. If there is any changes in the services of Yahoo Messenger, they will be send you a valid email notice and not from somebody on the internet.I haven't received any notice yet so I don't think it is true. It's just another spam, do not believe in emails that will ask you to resend the email to a number of person and the one who sent it, even those religious ones! They are just tying to collect email addresses from forwarded emails for their spamming activity. If you are to sent email to a group of people, try using the "bcc" to hide their emails.

new virus infection: it can be fixed through deleting extra key in registry settings. navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \Software \Microsoft \Windows \CurrentVersion \Internet Settings\ then delete keys other than 0,1,2,3,4 get someone who knows around windows registry to set it right..goodluck
problem is probably with the support software that drives Messenger -
this is not downloaded with Yahoo Messenger but installed on your
computer. Check your IE settings first
Click "Tools" Click "Internet Options." Click "Security"
tab. Click "Custom Level" button. Scroll down to "Script ActiveX.controls
marked safe for scripting"- enable Scroll down to "Scripting - Active
scripting" - enable Scroll down to "Scripting of Java applets" - enable
Click OK Click OK
Still not working ? Update
software use the links on this page to help update software.
At the top of your friends list window click on Contacts and make sure the "show offline contacts" is checked, this will make your friends show on your list whether they are online or offline. After checking this and none of them still show up on your list then you have an internal problem with messenger and you need to uninstall messenger Completely so you can get rid of the corrupted file that is causing your problem and get a clean install. When you uninstall not all of the yahoo messenger files are deleted from your Program Files, so if the problem you are having is caused by a corrupted file then the problem will still be there when you install it again. So what you need to do is uninstall messenger then go to your Program files and delete the yahoo folder. This will get rid of all remaining files especially the corrupted ones.
To uninstall you need to click on the Start button(the one on your task bar) then go to Control Panel then to Add/Remove Programs, find yahoo messenger in the list and click on it then on uninstall.<< this is for XPTo uninstall in Vista click on start then Control Panel then on Uninstall a Program in the new window find yahoo messenger click it to uninstall it.To find and delete the Yahoo folder click on the START button in your task bar then on My Computer then C: drive then Program Files then right click on the Yahoo folder and Delete it. It's a good idea tI do recommend you get the 184.108.40.2061 version as it is the most stable a bug free version of messenger !!
When you download it just save it to your desktop and then run the installer from there. If you have XP just double click on it to start the install. To install messenger on Vista you need to download messenger to your desktop. Then Right click on the installer and then click on "Run as Administrator" to get it to install correctly.you will not lose your contacts by uninstalling messenger as they are saved on the yahoo servers.o reboot your PC now to make sure it's all gone out of your system.
Uninstall you yahoo messenger using a uninstaller program like revo uninstaller. Then try to install a fresh yahoo messenger into your computer. Try also to clean, optimize and repair your registry using ccleaner
can you try installing a different version of yahoo messenger? preferably the latest version. I dont think theres a virus in it but i think there are some corrupted files on your yahoo messenger that made it to shut down improperly.
You should uninstall the program and reinstall it. Before you reinstall it run a spyware and anti-virus scan and make sure something isn't influencing the program, and after reinstalling it if you encounter the same issue you will have to have your registry repaired. I won't suggest any programs to repair the registry, as it is a very... dangerous thing to mess around with.
Hopefully it works after being reinstalled, it sounds like you might just have a corrupt file. It happens on windows pcs.
There are a couple options to get rid of the problem: 1. Try restarting yahoo messenger 2. Try restarting your computer 3. Keep trying a couple more time If this won't help, shut down the messenger and try again a bit later
