Question about Belkin (F5D7000) 802.11g/b Wireless Adapter
Have a brand new Belkin Wireless G desktop card.
Installation CD damaged, so downloaded a driver from the Belkin site that should work (f5d7000_v7032_0831.exe - supposedly compatible with XP pro64). Installed driver and software with no problems, shutdown PC, installed card.
My O/S XP PRO 64 recognizes that new hardware has been added but does not pickup the driver.
Under device manager item is listed as 'Network Controller' with the yellow question marks. Tried to update the driver using device manager hardware wizard, however when i point to the directory containing the driver (belkin\F5D7000v7032\Driver) I get the message 'Cannot install this hardware' 'The hardware cannot be installed becasue the wizard cannot find the necessary software'
Have tried 3 other drivers since none work.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated..
It means you downloaded a wrong driver for the device otherwise it could have installed. Check again the product and download the correct driver.
