Hey back at yuh even though i'm am not getting any shrill beep i also tried that as one of the troubleshooting techniques and still nothin. Anymore suggestions

that beep sometimes just quits , mine did but everything else is good

have you tried another monitor? or if you have a video card try that

because if the computer starts up but no video is being processed , then it could be the on board video chip that quit, were you experiencing video stopping wihile you were watching something before this happend?

A continuous beep POST error usually means there is a RAM problem.
Try re-seating the RAM, and if you still have a problem then take the RAM to your friendly computer repair shop to test the RAM for you.

Hi Sue.

Remove the power cord from the back and then take out the motherboard battery for half an hour (you need to remove the side panel from the case to access the motherboard) after the half hour is up pop the battery back in and connect the power cord, see if that resolves the problem.
The fact that you can hear 1 beep indicates that all is fine so I doubt you have fried the BIOS chip.
Also, if you have a stand alone graphics card installed remove that and clean the contacts, then reinsert it.

Plesae post back if you have more problems.

Good luck.

Installed a new msi 88ogm - e43 motherboard with a amd phenom 2 processer and get no boot/post message of any kid

Go ahead and remove everything but the processor, heat sink, PSU, and the power connectors to the board and attempt to boot up like that. If you still are unable to boot up check to see if you have any yellow lights on your board, if so either your board or power supply are damaged.

first thing, make sure there is a speaker so you can hear the beep codes, those are critical, and then configure your computer with the least amount of prepherals possible, one ram module, the cpu,and the integrated video card, if no integrated, then only one video card, try pulling out all ram modules and listen for a beep code, they can be very quiet, lastly stalk the motherboard for burnmarks, you could have a fried board, especially if you disconnected something while it was on, or within 15 seconds of disconnecting power...

No beep,No Display on my monitor, only CPU heatsink fan is moving

You motherboard has onboard video. It's possible it needs to be disabled and the option changed to use the pci or pci-express slot for the Ati card you installed. Since you have no post error beeps this is the best place to start. Also I had built a system not to long ago and had a similar problem. Resetting the cmos on the motherboard (usually a pin combo) solved the issue.

Start by hooking up your vga cable to the onboard video.

Hope this helps.

MSI K8N NEO2 Platinum NOT Posting + No beep + No display

try to test the CPU on another machine ...

or at least remove it and reinsert it.

But if u say that u reseted the BIOS an it still not doing the post, it just could be that the motherboard is out !

It can also be the PSU as u say, but i doubd it ! Try to remove all hard drives, cdroms, etc... to limit the power usage... and see if it passes the post.

U can also try to remove the motherboard from the computer case and put it on an insolating surface and than try to boot (sometimes shorts appeare betwen the motherbord- case - psu)
