Question about Zebra ZM600 Printer

Open Question

We have a Zebra ZM600 that is dropping print characters. The label is created with TL Ashford software. The label has various information on it most prints ok by the first field on the label will drop characters. For instance the customer name is Starline Mfg it will print Starl and drop the rest. This customer name is in all caps. We have other customers that print ok that are upper and lower case letters, I don't know if this is causing a issue. Has anyone had characters drop?

SOURCE: Print Width Issue

the issue you are having is DPI related, when data is sent to the printer and rendered it is dot for dot, so a Z4M 203dpi printer has about 800dots on the printhead where your printer has about 1200dots on the printhead. so when your software prints to dot800 thinking it is the edge of the label it is infact at 60%. there sould be an option in the software to configure around this. if not the is an option in the printer to convert DPI setting ie 150>300 or 100>200 and so on. but i don't thing you can make a 300dpi print as 203dpi

best of luck

SOURCE: Zebra 105sl - printer does not print correct size

This can happen if you have the wrong dpi setup. For instance the 105sl can be either 203dpi or 300dpi. If your printhead is 300dpi and the label you create is expecting 203dpi, then you will see shrunken label. Your situation doesn't exactly sound like this is the case but it may be worth checking.

SOURCE: Zebra TLP2844 does not print the barcode label

Turn off the printer, then hold down the feed button while you turn it on again. After the configuration label prints, turn the printer off and on again, then try to print your labels.

If the barcodes still don't print, make sure they don't extand past the top, bottom or side of the label. If you software allows you to "clear the label cache" or "re-image the enitre label", try that.

SOURCE: Hello everybody. I can`t connect ZM600(zebra)

You must use a RS232 null modem cable or if you have a straight thru cable then get a null modem adapter to use with the straight thru cable.

How to printer test page from the display panel zebra zm600

With most Zebra printers, a test page is printed by pressing and holding the PAUSE key while turning on the power. Keep pressing the PAUSE key until the printer completes the POST (power on self-test), then you can let go. A test pattern will begin printing. You can stop the pattern by pressing PAUSE. Turning the printer off & on again is the fastest way to end the test. This is a good page to print because it prints a large black box and it's easy to see if there are any printhead elements not functioning. It's best to use the largest, widest label you have for this test.

Hope that helps !

I have a brand new Zebra ZM600 with new ribbon and new label. However, it is only printing half of a ticket, and what it does print is very faded.

If the problem is on the right side , try adjusting the head pressure adjustment knob on the top right side. You can adjust with a flat blade screw driver.

Printer prints 2 blank labels before it prints the express label.

This may be related to the printer calibration. Try manually calibrating the printer and check the settings in the software you are using.
