How to synchronize Logitech® Cordless Mouse to Receiver?

The term 'synchronize' refers to connecting a non-Bluetooth wireless device with its receiver. In the case of the Logitech® Cordless Mouse it uses a 2.4GHz Micro-Receiver that does NOT have a connect button for synchronizing/connecting the mouse. This is because the mouse and receiver are pre-synchronized at the factory. If the mouse and receiver ever lose connection for some reason, there is a utility, called the Connection Utility that will re-establish the synchronization between the device and its receiver. SetPoint 2.40 or higher is required in order to use this utility. You can download SetPoint and the Connection Utility from www.logitech.com. It is suggested that you save the file(s) to the Windows desktop or somewhere you can find them easily. If you have already installed Setpoint 2.4x, the Connection Utility will be located on your hard drive at the following location:

C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPoint\logitechconnect.exe or click on Start/Program/Logitech/connect utility

In order to use the Connection Utility, please double click the Connection Utility icon and then follow these instructions. Please note that a message stating "To connect your device, press the connect/reset button on the bottom of the device" may appear during this process. Disregard this message and do the following:

Connect receiver to the USB port on your PC
Put a charged battery in the Logitech® Cordless Mouse

Run the Connection Utility (logitechconnect.exe)
Click the mouse left button and keep it pressed until told to release it in the following steps
Press the reset/power button under the mouse briefly (do not hold the button as it will turn the mouse off.)
Click the right mouse button 5 times
Release the left mouse button
The Logitech® should be resynchronized with the receiver within a few seconds.

SOURCE: mouse will not move the curser.

did you install the driver? is there a pop-up that the driver is installed? after recognizing the mouse did you wait for a minute? try to plug it again and watch carefully in the lower right corner in your desktop if it really installed or read. if the mouse is read then you must restart the pc to make it work.

MY Logitech mouse at times will not move the cursor when on the desk but when I move it to another surface, such as my jeans, it works. Any ideas?

Opticals mouse do not work on properly on Red surface or black surface. It would also not work on a Transparent surface. Possibly the laser beam coming from the mouse gets absorbed by these surface color. Hence you need to use a surface which can reflect back the laser beam, so that the mouse pointer would move properly.

Hope this information was helpful.

Changed battery and now doesn't work. red light is on bottom of mouse, but curser won't move on screen

There is a reset button on both receiver and mouse you must reset every time you change batteries. Normally the receiver one first.

Logitech mouse blinks red after hanging battries

If this is a cordless Optical mouse it uses a red optical beam to sense the surface below it. This is how it moves the pointer. If this is the same mouse/keyboard combo I have it does not have any other lights on the mouse itself.

It is quite annoying when its dark in the room since the bottom is somewhat transparent.

Replace the batteries; even if the batteries still work, if it is low on power, sometimes the mouse won't work.
