This hard drive is very old and the guarantee period is for one year from the date of purchase. Therefore it is no longer under warranty.
Seagate no longer manufactures a hard drive of 40Gb capacity, the hard drive are now over 100Gb in capacity.
What software did you use for the cloning? Ghost is the preferred method. Be sure to choose a disk to disk clone, not a partition clone. It sounds like you may have created a 20G partition and left 40G unallocated. Partition Magic may also take care of the problem, if you have access to a copy.
