This is a common problem with your machine. the F50 means the motor rotor position sensor (RPS) senses no rotation. Definitely call the store and or the manufacturer and put them on notice that you have learned that this is a common problem and you want satisfaction otherwise you will go to the better business bureau and the state attorney general. Don't back down as you are one of numerous Miele customers dealing with this issue

Just had the same problem, after Much patience and persistence I found the blockage at the y piece that joins the pump to the outlet hose air trap towards the top of the machine LHS with the top and cover off.
It was clogged solid therefore no back pressure on the top little ball valve (between the air trap and the outlet) therefore no seal therefore norain therefore a drain-fault that persists regardless of a cleaned pump filter.

Two things cause the dreaded F50 code. (motor)
1. The machine control
2. The stator
Item 17 this link:
The upper cover of the stator comes in kit form and has been known to also cause the dreaded F50 code.
All of them are some what costly repair(s) in my book but cheaper than a new machine.
I have yet to change a Stator for an F50 Code.... but have changed a lot of machine controls (most often failure) and stator cover kits (occasional failure) that corrected the problem.
Just being honest. Thanks for using FixYa!

Tip mch back and locate the lg allen bolt in the center of the magnet and remove counterclokwise. The motor is actually a large magnet that revolve around a stator, a series of windings. Pull hard and place magnet away from any metal. Once off, remove the bolts holding the stator to the base and on the reverse side is the rps sensor. It looks like a wedge and is clipped onto the stator.
