Nero and Roxio are famous for this. Writers have their own set of drivers that different burning programs hook into to transfer the data onto the disk. It's a hierarchical structure, and quite often a new installation of software takes over those hooks for itself, leaving a disconnect for the other programs.
I bet that you either installed or updated Nero most recently.
For the disc that won't load. Is it just one or all? If a disc gets damaged in the base volume files, this can easily happen.
What OS are you using? I doubt it is the burner. I have the same model burner and it burns everything I try to burn just fine. It works on both my XP SP2 installation and the OS X86 Leopard 10.5.5 installation. I have burned video, data and bootable OS DVDs and CDs in both operating systems.
It may just be Nero. You could try Alcohol 120% or Ultra ISO.
well yeah some files won't burn totally. and that sucks, even when the disc is enough for the file, it really does not burn. like what I downloaded a few moths ago,, I was burning it but when it comes to the very end, it cuts out and telling me too abort the burning. even using windows dvd burner or nero.well i will keep you updated for this matter.
Hi, It could be a problem of the version you are using with Nero 7, try upgrading. It also could be that you are try to burn the DVD RW at a speed it cannot be burned (say 4x), try burning it at 2x. Hope this works!
Have you checked device manager to see if you have a yellow checkmark on your DVD./CD drives? if ok, sounds to me like the maker of the LH-20A1l BLO5 either needs to fix your problem or replace it. The Nero 7 should enable it to work correctly.
You seem to have a related problem, you can't burn cd's and you cannot install windows without an error.
Either your hard drive has a bad sector where it keeps trying to write the data or your dvd drive has a reading error.
Firstly check your hard drive for errors, right click on your 'c' drive and down to properties, then click on tools tab, then error checking.
This can take quite a while, so be patient.
Secondly, there have been numerous updates from Nero especially related to Service Pack 2 so download the latest updates from their 'Ahead Nero' website, they are free as you are'nt upgrading just updating.
