Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

RAZR 2 blank black screen

Please help me, I have had my RAZR 2 from Telus Mobility for a while and nothing has gone wrong, up untill yesterday both screens are completly black. The phone is still operational but I can't see anything.

    My screen is blank, but the phone is operational... useless without the menu, but I can dial out at least and answer calls. Just before it went blank, my screen instructed me to insert a new SIM card. I rebooted the phone with no luck, and brought it back to ** & *, where instead of attempting to fix it , they tried to sell me a Blackberry and a 2 yr contract. I'm fed up with that level of "service" and planned obsolescence of the phone itself and am holding out for any suggestions you have to fix this.

    I have the exact same problem. It's most frustrating because I did nothing to provoke this issue (dropping it, getting it wet, etc.) It's obvious that this is a flaw with this particular Motorola model, it's unfortunate the company hasn't conducted any type of recall to rectify the issue....that's big corporations for you.

    my razor phone just blacked out on me.. one second it was working i was sending a text message and the next minute i closed it and i got another text message and the screen went black...but i did notice that the front screen had my picture and then the little cingular guy.. both half and half... what do i do?

    i have the same problem on three cingular motorola razr v3
    phones, i've replace the entire flex cable with keypay and still have
    the same results of blank black display screen......any help would be
    appreciated,,,,Thank you

    Same problem here. Screen went blank/black once back in October 2008, but it came back by itself after a few hours. Then 3 weeks ago (now that the 1-yr warranty is up), it happened again...only this time it is STILL blank. Can't use my e-mail, texting, change ringtones or ANYTHING. I wish Motorola would address this issue. I feel like I wasted $250. I've e-mailed Moto and am awaiting their response. Will post once they do.

    this same problem happened with me twice with 2 different phones!! igenitally squeeze the screen when i turn it on and i works rarely andonly for a little while.. i vote we all go to the Motorola company andyell at them rambunctiously till they give us something..

    Theproblems i keep having brew up enough anger in me to make me think ofchoking a small dog. this is all a bunch of **** chargin!!!

    please help! my razr 2 v8 has just a blank screen on both screens. i didnt seem to break it in anyway as far as dropping it goes. but both screens are blank. but he phone is still working. please help!!!

It seems there is a problem with your display flex cable, sometimes it comes loose and the lcd goes blank. you can buy a new one or get it repaired from a licensed shop, the site lists some vendors you can got there to find one in your zipcode

Sounds like you have had a display failure. You may look for a local repair shop. We don't repair the Razr V3 any longer.

Why has my screen gone blank?

If you are sure you have enough battery, try a forced reboot to confirm the phone is working by pressing and holding the power button for about 1 minute or until the phone powers back on.

My screen has gone to black. how do I fix it?

If you got the phone wet this will happen. Even damp "like in the bathroom while taking a shower." Take the back cover off there is a round dot that should be white. If it is red you got the phone wet and you will need a new one. This cannot be fixed!

Try holding these keys simultaneoulsy.
ALT+RIGHT SHIFT(CAP)+DELETE Until you get a blank screen then power on.

Failing that power off, remove your battery for 30 seconds and then power on.

Phone doesn't turn on, randomly shuts off

The same thing is happening to me and I didnt drop my phone at all... and this is the replacement phone from my insurance that I just got 2 weeks ago... My old razor would blank screen and I didn't do anything to that one either... I think they're just crappy phones now.

Well i suggest that you take the case of your phone and have a look at your screen maybe some of the screws have gone missing or the screen has just worn itself out? . Note youll need a t6 or t7 torx screwdriver to do this , hope i helped
