Question about Dyson DC21 All Floors Stowaway HEPA Bagless Canister Vacuum - Iron/Titanium/Yellow
Suction is horrible, infact ther is hari and dirt stuck in the hose?
I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC21. If it doesn't seem to be picking up as well as usual, please follow the steps shown in our online support guide. This will help you clear the blockage in the hose, and identify any other issues with the machine:
It's also a good idea to give the filter a wash - in normal use, this should be done at least once every 3-6 months, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for it to dry completely before replacing it.
This should resolve things, but if you need any further assistance, please call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US), so we can help.

SOURCE: Dyson Animal-suction loss
Had the same problem twice and washed the filter to no avail. Called Dyson to troubleshoot, and in one minute they had me removing the purple plastic noodle shaped piece towards the bottom on the side (the next time it was the silver noodle on the opposite side). Inside was a bent pen and tons of debris wrapped around it that slowed the suction. Poked the debris out, and it worked perfectly.

My Dyson DC14 had no suction...see if this works...turn the Dyson upside down...there is a length of hose that connects the bottom of the vacuum to the top, careful remove one end of the hose and check for debris...mine was clogged. Removed the clog and voila...it works. Thanks for the above info on checking the hose for cracks.

Sounds like you've **** up something which is obstructing the suction from the brush bar. There's a little section of curved grey pipe near the base which carries the dirt from the head up the vertical pipe at the back. This section can be removed, check there is nothing jammed in there, paper etc.

Hi its Darran at Dyson.
It sounds as though the wand handle is blocked. To check this, remove the wand/hose from the machine as if you were going to use it to vacuum the stairs. Switch the machine on and test the suction at the top of the wand handle with your hand. If the suction from the wand is poor, remove the wand from the hose and test the suction again from the top of the hose. If the suction here is good, then you know the wand handle is blocked. If the suction is poor at the hose, you can remove the hose from the machine and clear any blockages here.
For the full blockage procedure please visit the support section on our website at www.dyson.com.
