Question about Sony KDS-55A3000 55" HDTV
This is a Sony Bravia 55in LCD Projector TV MN: KDS55A3000. Its a single Lens system that is split in two pieces. There are markings A+ B+ C+ and tic marks on the sides. I'm not sure what depth or where the final positioning of the lens should be. I've checked the service manual and owner manual for the information. I've attempted the "trial and error" approach but it doesnt seem to be as in focus as it was before. I'm really dont want to just "eyeball" the picture. Hope someone can shed a little light on this for me. Thanks JB Thanks

SOURCE: My sony tv doesnt turn on.
Hi, The blinking lights is an indicator of an internal fault. On some Sony sets, 4 blinks indicate a problem where the video is muted due to a component fault. Since this involve opening the set and doing electronics diagnosis and possibly component/board replacement, you may be better off seeking the services of a qualified TV repair professional. Hope this be of assistance/idea. Post back should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

SOURCE: Convergence problem
you will need to replace the stk ic's they are mounted to 2 large heat sinks in side the tv. the ic numbers are on the chips themselves. i do believe it is stk392-510 for sony. once you have the number you can buy these anywhere online. just put new ones in and should be good to go. if this doesnt work then there are a few resistors and fuses by the ic's that sometimes fail.

A reset won't fix this. The standby light should be blinking a repeated count with a 3 second pause inbetween. Post that count here. That will indicate the circuit/condition that is preventing the set from turning on.

I had the same problem, seems to have something to do with the external aerial socket. I unplugged the aerial and had no more trouble (only a solution if you don't use freeview)
