The arbot bolt on your saw has reverse threads or righty-loosey, lefty tighty. You should be turning it clockwise as you are looking at it or in the same direction the blade turns when cutting. The arbor bolt on these saws are reverse thread so that they are self tightening while the saw is in use.

Hi, The legs on the stand should have leveling pads on it. at the bottom of each stand legs, there is a hole which the pad goes in. you can adjust the pad by unloosening the top nut. put a level on the saw base and adjust the pad up or down to level your stand.

If this doesn’t work for you, please write back. Thanks,

SOURCE: I have a 1979 unisaw and it is burning stock

I would use a straight edge, to see if the blade is parallel to the table. Bring the blade up, put the straightedge on it and measure to one of the dado cuts in the table, front and back should be the same. If not, You can loosen up the mounting bolts underneath and tap the whole thing around to square it up. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: My saw problem has to do with changeing the blade.

The nut is binding on the arbor because the threads are buggered up or clogged with something. It could be the nut (which is probably brass and soft) or the arbor (which is steel). If it got a little cross threaded, the damage will be on the nut. It might be the arbor if the arbor took a whack. Once you have it apart you should be able to see it - although the damage might be pretty small. You aren't likely to have a tap and die to run through the threads, but you can probably fix it with a little rotary tool (like a dremel) using a small disc. If it is the arbor you can use a triangular file. Or you can buy a new nut. I hope this helps.

Removing Pro-tech table saw blade, is the nut holding it reverse thread? or standard?

Ralph, the arbor thread on a left tilt table saw is "standard" thread direction - that is, when looking at the end of the arbor (which of course you can't do on a table saw) turn the nut in a clockwise direction to tighten, counterclockwise to loosen.

Hope this helps.

yes sometimes the bolts are left handed thread. What you can try is find a metric socket that starts to go on to the nut and tap it the rest of the way on the nut with a mallet then try to unloosen the bolt.

How do i change the blade on my delta 10" mitre saw

Exploded diagram for your SM100M miter saw is here.
User manual is here.

Page 20 covers blade change operation.

Make sure you unplug your saw! You need to remove a screw from the cover and rotate the cover to the rear. Use a hex wrench in the motor shaft to keep the saw blade from turning, and loosen the arbor nut with a 1/2" wrench. The arbor is reverse threaded, so you'll turn it clockwise to loosen, then counterclockwise to tighten it up after you have swapped the blade.
Rotate the cover back after that's done, and replace the screw.

If this was useful, please vote. Thanks.

Change blade miter saw

Un-plug the saw. Remove the screws holding the side saw guard in place. Look at the center of the saw blade for the nut holding it in place. Take a socket wrench that fits the nut and loosen it. You'll need to take a scrap piece of wood 2x4, and jamb the teeth of the blade into it while loosening the nut. The nut will come off first and then a washer/spacer.

Reverse the order for installing the new blade. Make sure you use the proper size diameter blade (10 inch) and mounting hole in the replacement blade. Also, use the provided washer/spacers that were on the original blade and secure the nut. Spin by hand to see if everything clears. Mount the protective guard back on. Plug in the saw and test cut .

Good luck. If you are still unsure - ask a handy neighbor to help. It takes about 5 minutes to complete this task.

The Blade Arbor is held to the bottom of the table with mounting screws and stop/adjusting screws. Loosen the mounting screw and adjust the stop screws to make Blade true with miter slot.

Changing the blade to our compound miter saw when hex slot is rou

ok a couple things to try...

Firstly to hold the blade arbor still if it doesnt have an arbor/spindle lock button, try wedging a piece of wood between the blade and the saw table (might have to lower the cutting head and hold it down. Next try again with the hex key... Make sure it is the right size one, i.e. the one that came with the saw. If the hole is really rounded out, you are in a bit of a bind, however, the next option is to get a grinder and try and slice a groove across the nut so you can fit a large screwdriver or a flat piece of steel in th slot in the nut you just made for leverage and try and work the nut off that way. Either way, be sure to get a new blade nut if and when you get it off to make sure the problem doesn't occur again. See how you go.

How do I replace my mitre saw blade?

It should still easily fit a 5/8" blade. The arbor shape shouldnt have any effect on the type of arbor hole needed on the saw blade (only round arbor holes are made on saw blades. You will probably find the arbor securing nut has a shape that fits into the flat gaps between the saw blade and the arbor when fixed. So grab a 5/8" round arbor saw blade and give it a go. It should work fine.
It is the arbor nut that secures the blade onto the arbor via friction which holds it on.
