RCA HD52W56 52 in. Rear Projection HDTV Television

The picture on the TV is cutting off people's head's. Everything seems to be moved up. How do I fix that?

Turn off autoformat.. to change format push left or right arrow over on your remote

Lost picture


When was the last time u replaced the projection bulb,yes it could be that simple the projection bulb it dead.The bulb last only about 1 or 2 years,by using the tv on about 4 or 5 hours a day.

Picture is off


Its possible that CL029 has failed. I have seen that caps cause the picture to be stretched.

Cuts peoples heads off, doesnt autoformat


uncheck format , format manually. use "full" or "panorama" setting

I have an RCA D40W20 tv. I have the vcr/dvd connected to the video 1 jacks. picture will not format to screen. everyones heads are cut off. picture is too tall. any fix?


Ty using the zoom settings on the TV or the dvd player, also check the inputs by testing the tv with free to air or another input to determine if its the tv or the dvd player. Good Luck.

this is a common situation with the rear projection build. its a combination of the burn in effect and also, bad tuning. you can get a better picture by using the DVI option. rgb stream can give you a better picture as well. adjusting the sharpness can help sometimes.

My tv zooms in and changes the format.


This is normal - you are zooming in on the picture. Most people use the zoom feature to "stretch" a widescreen movie so it will fit the screen.

Sounds like someone has put a magnet near it or picture projection from rear may have moved is the picture fine other than tinting?

is it a black area on the screen? or just cant see the heads anymore? either way its proabaly a setting on the remote such as zoom or ratio
