You didn't say what game you are using this in. Many flight sims allow you to setup controls more specifically and to your liking. I would look for such a menu in game and reverse that axis.

Analog stick are doing the opposite of what they should

I had this problem also on my sons xbox.. You must go into profile and then edit the settings.. In the default game setting you select the actions tba and have movement set as the left thumb stick.. His was set to the right thumb stick.. All sorted now.

Xbox analog sticks are the wrongs way around.

In the options menu there may be a controller configuration called Southpaw. This reverses the sticks. It might be the problem.

My xbox 360 controller is moving with the right stick and viewing with the left

Go into controls on Skyrim and change them to your personal preferences. Hit the start instead of map/item button.

The game controls on the left stick function the same as the right?

The left stick and right stick operate independantly. What they do would vary by game. For most first person shooters, the default is for the left stick to control looking left/right and moving. The other stick would control the other 2 (view up down/ moving on other axis).
If this was a help please give me 4 thumbs up as I am trying to build up my rep on this site!

Using fs9 with Saitek yoke - aileron control drifts to the right. Had the yoke for several years - it didn't use to do this. Reinstalled fs9 after a year of none use and now have this drift trouble.

The Saitek joystick yoke used to work perfectly. It was only recently that I experienced the aileron drift!
I un-installed and deleted averything related to FS9 and then started to load FS9 and all the add ons etc. The yoke works perfectly again. I have no idea......!

When the yoke is pushed/pulled (the y axis of the yoke affecting the elevators of the plane) it also affects the x axis of the yoke or the ailerons of the airplane. In my case I want to gain height (pull...

although this did not solve my problem, it is worth a try to reset the calibration settings stored in the windows registry.

These are the steps for it:

To recalibrate, first unplug the controller.

Go to start/run and type 'regedit'

The registry editor will have a list of folders on the left hand side. Go
down into the following folders in order.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (HKEY_CURRENT_USER if on VISTA)
System
CurrentControlSet
Control
Media Properties
Private Properties
Direct Input

Inside the Direct Input folder, delete any folder that begins VID_06A3.

Once done, close the editor.

Plug the controller back in and move all the
axes (including throttle) through their full range of movement 4 times.

Now go to control panel/game controllers/properties to see if there are any changes to the test screen?

If it helps you, it didn't do it for me ;) but I reckon it's worth a try

Right Joystick. . .

I had this same problem with my 360 controller (after modding it, but the solution should be the same..) If you pull up on any 360 joystick it will stick the same way.

The quickest fix would be to take some sandpaper on the inside of where the joystick touches the controller shell, sand it down just enough so the joystick is moving smoothly.

More professional ways would be to cut the little piece of metal that sticks out and goes into the joystick. Just a very small amount, too much will make it hard to press the right thumbstick button.
You could also try some old fashioned grease, just a little bit on the inside, nothing noticeable from the outside.

Also make sure the controller is put back together right, I've taken apart many 360 controllers and sometimes joysticks stick when there's a wire in the wrong place and the shell won't close all the way. (The rumble motors particularly).
Hope this helped!
