Most chucks have a screw down inside the middle to lock the chuck on. Sounds as if that screw is loose, it should be a lefthand screw. once that screw is removed you can unscrew the chuck by putting an allen wrench in the chuck and hitting it with a hammer to loosen the chuck.

Hi. open the chuck to the max. inside the chuck you will see a screw. remove it. put the drill in reverse. hold the chuck. a vice may be needed. pull the trigger. this may work, however in my experience, they are very tricky to get off. I have never had a faulty chuck but have had many faulty gearboxes. i have had to buy ney chuck to fit with the new gearboxes because i couldn't get the good chuck of the damaged gear box. good luck.

SOURCE: te70 hilti hammer drill

The TE-70 is permantly lubricated. You would only add lubricant if you took the tool apart. You can add a small amount of grease to the end of your bit occasionally before putting in the chuck. This keeps the chuck parts lubed.

SOURCE: How do i replace the jacob chuck on a hilti hammer

Open the jaws of the chuck all the way open. Inside the chuck you will see a slotted screw. Use a large flat head screw driver and remove screw. It will have left handed threads.

After you remove the screw put the end of the chuck in a vise where the 6 flats sides are. Put the drill in low gear and reverse. Hold tight and turn on the drill. This should run the chuck right off the spindle.

Need a new chuck for a tm8 hilti drill

The TM8 was only manufactured from 1984-1986. Parts have not been available in around 15 years. The TM8 had HIlti's version of the Joacob's chuck. It tightened the opposite way from a standard chuck. It had a tendency to fall apart and come off.Hilti revised the chuck two to three times but eventually did away with it after three years.

You might be able to find one on Ebay.

While using the hammer drill the chuck came off and I cannot get it back on.

Wipe the spindle off and in the back side of the chuck. The back collar is spring loaded and should move freely, if not I would use some lubricating fluid until the collar moves, with that said when you reinstall pull on the back collar to release the locking steel balls and push on spindle then release the collar and turn it until you feel the steel balls click into the indents on the spindle. Let me know if you need more assistance.

The chuck on my Hilti TE 24 hammer drill keeps falling off. I doesnt appear to be anything broken. Either there is a missing snap ring or I am just not putting it back on correctly. Any suggestions?

the header list 2 different drills, if yur chuck has a colllar with a quick release, I would suggest thoroughly cleaning and then using a lubricant, usually there are steel balls that lock into detents in the spindle and they might be stuck the collar should move freely.
