Question about RCA P46924 46" Rear Projection Television

RCA P46924 64" Rear Projection TV

Hello,

My television does not show any video from any output sources, from Cab/Sat (connected to Digital Cable Tuner), Input 1 (Connected to DVR), or Input 2 (Wii Console) all connected through standard RCA/Video-Audio Cables. Sound between the inputs works. The TV's OSD (On-Screen Display) shows for Picture Settings, Setup, etc. Does anyone have any idea where I should begin to troubleshoot this problem? Any help is much appreciated.

    Thank you, Schwangod!!!!! :o)

I unplugged the power cable, took the back off, blew out the boards with canned air, plugged it back into the power strip and Waaa Laaa! Upon powering it back up, the TV forced me into Setup Mode as it detected a total loss of power so I had to re-setup each device. The result was White Noise on cable channel (I disconnected the cable) and only connected the DVD Player on Video 1. I took your advice and did not reconnect the Wii ( Uuugh....No more beating up my boss in Boxing.....). I suspect the complete power off forced reinitialization of the video ports on the main board to clear the interference the Wii caused? Thanks again!

How should I hook up a dvd player? Which one of the input jacks. I am using rca connectors

mikehomco,

On the rear of the DVD locate the composite video output and audio outputs. The connectors will be RCA females. Video is yellow, right audio is red and left audio is right. Connect one end of your patch cable to the appropriate output color. On the TV find the video input one. Connect the yellow, red and white ends of the cord to the same colors on the TV, video input 1. If your TV has a source selection button use it to locate video input one. If not use the menu. Go to input select and choose video input one. Enjoy the movie.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

The Wii is not a HD output source. It only displays 480p. If you wish to connect an HD source, you must connect through an HDMI cable or a component Cable. HDMI is better.

2004 jvc 56in projection tv, has sound but no picture

Hello

Change the channel to ensure the problem isn't with the current station broadcast. Check the channel at a later time to see if the broadcast problem is resolved.

The type of programming you are trying to watch determines the proper input source. Press the "Input" button on the remote control to change to the proper input source. For example, if the source is a cable or satellite service, press the "Input" button until "TV" mode is selected. A component device, such as a DVD player, will operate on a different input source, such as "Video-1."

Check the coaxial cable, which connects your television broadcast service provider to your television. You need to securely connect the coaxial cable to the "ATSC/Digital Cable In" jack on the back of the television, and the other end to the wall jack. If the cable appears damaged, replace it with a new cable.

If you are using a component device as the source of your programming, ensure the component cables are plugged into the "Video Input" and "Audio Input" jacks on the back of the television or that the S-Video cable is plugged into the "S-Video Input" jack on the back of the television. Connect the other end of the cables to the "Video Output" and "Audio Output" jacks or "S-Video Output" jack on the component device.

Cable company switched to digital, now my Ant A port on the vs-50603 does not receive signals. I can somewhat view the analog signals through my PIP only. other tv's in the house came back with signal 5...

When the cable company offers you digital cable, you typically need a cable box to unscramble the digital channels. Therefore you need to connect either a coaxial cable from the cable box's RF output, if it has one, or connect 3 RCA cables from the yellow, white and red jacks on the rear panel of the cable box to the TV. Analog channels only (if available) will go straight thru over the coaxial RF hookup. They are not scrambled. Select the proper input source on the TV for the cable box.

Hi, I need a new little pice for my tv where the cable connects to. It's an RCA D56W20

The main board with the tuner on it will have to be removed to replace this part.

There is a less expensive and easy way to get around this. If you are using a cable or sat box----connect from video outputs on box to one of the video/audio inputs on the back of the set--you just bypass the cable fitting and use one of the video inputs instead.

Most cable, sat providers etc will provide you with a box with this output. You can also take a old VCR and connect into it and use ITS VIDEO AND AUDIO OUTPUTS and connect to one of the AV jacks on the back of the set--you will in this case have to change channels with the VCR---

Typical cost for this kind of repair is over 150 total--If you are handy and can get the board out I can tell you how to replace the fitting--not real easy and care has to be taken.

If this information helped you rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

No digital to reciever??

This tv will only output the sound from a digital tv channel through the optical output when using the tv's digital tuner. So if you are connecting a DVD etc it will not output through the optical output on the tv. ONLY digital chanels through the tv's tuner will give you sound. Refer to the tv's owners manual for more info.
