The recovery CD is use to setup your laptop again.
Boot up your Toshibs laptop with the recovery CD and follow the on screen instructions. This will restore your laptop to as new setup.

Responding to ikenfixit, F2 does not take me to BIOS. Neither can the optical drive boot to windows. Seems the computer is not responding to any key input whatsoever.

If the flash bios installation was stopped, you might have to do it from dos, otherwise, go ahead and press f2 and correct any obvious errors (ie floppy drive listed and not present)

SOURCE: my toshiba laptop model a215-s5837 shuts off randomly

I also have a Toshiba that started doing this. The problem was overheating. Try getting some of the canned compressed air and blowing out the fan and also the vents all the way around the computer. Also make sure the fan intake is unrestricted. I bought an aftermarket stand that has a built in fan that plugs into the USB.. My computer has not shut off once since then. Good Luck.

Don't worry. I'm sure it will be fine, as long as it's not over heating or smoking. lol. But seriously, you should be able to disable that error in Bios under one of those options. If you are still having problems contact customer support for help.

Thanks,

Blank screen "BOOTMGR is missing" for toshiba satellite A215-S5837

I would assume this may have Windows XP or 7, see if you can find the recovery disk for your machine. One of the things you can try is use the CD as your boot disk (you may need to enter the BIOS or SETUP to change the boot order...there will be a key to hit when you see the Toshiba splash screen when you first boot the machine...it will say press "<some key here>" to enter setup.)
Once you boot from the disk I would try getting to a command prompt and running the following command: chkdsk c: /f /r

This will scan and repair any bad sectors on your hard drive and if they can be repaired it may make your machine bootable again. If they cannot be repaired, it may be that your hard drive is dying. Either way...if you get into the machine (even from the boot disk) if you can see the drive, I'd recommend backing up whatever files you can, because if the drive dies, you will lose your data

Try going into the Bios or System Setup and see if there are some settings for System Security or Asset ID Antenna. It sounds like something is set in the Bios. Turn the computer off, then turn it back on and watch the screen for which key it says to hit to get into the Bios or System Setup. Hit the key when you see the message or it will not work and you will have to reboot and try again.

WHEN BOOTING THE TOSHIBA SATELLITE A215-S5837 I hear two beeps and get a dark screen. I can press f1 and go into safe mode but don't know what to do next. The error message is "resource conflict...

Hello,
These beeps are error code and two short beeps during start up normally refers to RAM or memory not being detected. You can try to reseat the RAM modules or ask someone who knows how to do it. If it will still be the same, it means that the RAM is defective and consider replacing it.
Cheers!

My Laptop MODEL COMPAQ M2000. LAPTOP HUNGING PROBLEM . ERROR IS PRESS F1 RESUME & F2 SETUP . PLS. GIVE ME SOLUTION .

Try Pressing F8 while booting to go into Advanced Options Menu. 1) Choose Last known Settings that worked.
2) If that does'nt work, Remove any USB or Other NEW DEVICES that have been added recently. Then press F2 to enter Bios. Go to Boot Order Option and make sure that the #1 Boot Device is your CD/DVD Drive & #2 is your Hard Drive on the list. Then Save/Exit & Reboot.

After turn on is asking for password (bios) and no body set up any password.

Hi, "Reboot" the Computer, look at the bottom of the [Screen] there will be (2) two, "Options" F2 for {Utilitiys Setup} and F12 for [Boot Options]; you want to "Press" the F2 button immediately at "Startup!" Once your in the Utilities, you can change the [Password]. If all go well, let me know by giving a "helpful rating," thanks.

sounds like your floppy drive is failing, you could get it replaced or simply turn it off via the BIOS.
to turn it off simply hit the F2 key. On the first screen usually it will list your Hard Drives, CD ROMs', and the Floppy. scroll down to the floppy and hit enter ot the corresponding key form the bios's legend at the bottom or right hand side of the screen untill you see disable.
Next you can navigate to Save & exit or hit F10 to do the same. G/L.
