How to anable my scanner on my hp 5510 officejet all in one printer fax scanner

With HP, it is easiest to use the controlling software that you can get from thier site, for free. Run from a computer and not from the printer itself (easier).

I need the software for the 'all in one' fax copier scanner 5510. Any ideas?

Start here » Software & Driver downloads

Click link above, enter required information ( OS etc.) and download the printer driver file.

Note: there is no download on Vista, as Vista is supposed to have built in drivers for this model.

My scanner won't work

I have the same printer and I recently had to download the same software. I found it on the HP website. You can find everything you need here. First start by choosing your OS.

Officejet 5510 Scan Function disappeared

HP has a fix for the Internet Explorer 7 issue on it's download page. You can also install the full feature software for a newer model, I used the OfficeJet L7780 and I now have additional features plus it works in VISTA. Just be sure to select "WIRED/WIRELESS" when asked how to connect and select "CONNECT LATER" when prompted that the printer could not be found. Works great.
