Question about Fahrenheat Electric Convector Baseboard Heater, 3'

1 Answer

Can't find replacement parts

I just purchased a home built in 1981 - it has intertherm heaters thru-out - 3-in floor models, 2-in wall (little - bathrooms), and 6 baseboard EBH - the little ones in the baths do not work at all - can not find parts for thermastats, and the baseboard ones all have the knob on side of units with OFF - 1-5 - no matter what number you set it on, you are blown away by the heat - can not control the heat - and can not find any replacement parts.
the thermostat is a 2 pole - cadet bought intertherm - but what do do about getting the replacement parts - i have searched all over - any help?

My advice would be to add an external thermostat which is mounted on the wall just like any normal room thermostat. Thermostats like the Honeywell CT62B1015 can be used with baseboard heaters. These thermostats carry the full voltage and current load of the heater so you need to shut off the power to the heater and be careful when installing them.

Home Depot carries I believe 2 different T-stats , wall mount, and unit mount. Try there. Or you will need to get it touch with the manufacturer. Also have info, 120 or 240 volt.

What is an A-Coil Cage on a Intertherm Electric Mobile Home Furnace?

Hello,
An "a-coil" is a cooling coil that looks like the letter "a". The cage is simply the box or sheet metal case built around the a-coil. It is most likely located inside of the furnace itself and if you remove the furnace door you should be able to easily locate the coil- it has 2 copper pipe tubes running from the coil and down or up through the ceiling or the wall.
Hope this helps, James

How far off the floor do i install hot water baseboard heaters

When you install the baseboard heater make sure the bottom part which is the all thing must sit over the floor and touch the tiles or carpet and use 2 or 3 wood screw against the wall. That is it and do not put any kind of paper or cotton or material things above the cover. Beside that you are ok and it is not like an electric wall heater.

Take the part into a heating and cooling repair business and have them order that part. You will also need to have the model number and brand of the furnace you have. I'm sure they will order one for you.
