Hello,\

i think you have to shutdown your computer and refix all component inside the CPU. specifically memory and video card.. if this not work, you have to test your computer by removing each components.

Compaq presario 56000cl won't boot up / red light flashing in the back.

When you press the power button do you hear the fan running, hear the disk drive running, see any lights, do you hear the cd drive click once and see the light come on briefly on the cd drive door? If you see all the aforementioned then it is surely trying to boot. Computers don't boot mainly because of the following problems. 1) Bad Power Cord or Power Supply. 2) Electro Static Buildup. 3) Bad Motherboard 4) Bad boot or system files.
Remove the Power Cord and the battery if it's a laptop. Press and Hold the Power Button for 30 Seconds. Then replace only the Power Cord and try hitting the Power Button. If it boots you had an Electro Static Buildup. If you have boot or system files that are missing or corrupt normally the system will be telling you that on an error message that appears on the screen. Does your system show you anything on the screen when you press the Power Button? If not you have a Power Supply or Motherboard issue.

Compaq CQ4010F Desktop PC won't turn on after a power surge

You probably and lets hope so, have an Electro Static Charge Buildup on your desktop. Remove the Power Cord and Press and Hold the Power Button for 30 seconds. After 30 Seconds plug the Power Cord back in the hit the Power Button. If it boots then you had an Static Charge Buildup. If it does not boot and you say it happened after a power surge then either your Power Supply or Motherboard is possibly damaged. Do you hear fans, hear the disk drive running, see lights, hear the CD Rom click once and see the light on the CD Rom drive com on briefly after you hit the Power Button. If so it would seem that your power supply is ok.

My computer won't boot up and the orange light just stays on. The moniter is working, the fans in the power supply is working

Could be your motherboard. Does anything come up on the screen at all when you boot up? Do you hear a beep at startup? Also check to make sure your hard drive is spinning just to be sure.

On my e-machines t3418 motherboard what pin setting should the jumper be for clear cmos

1. Usually there are 3 pins, and you put the jumper on 2 of them to clear CMOS, then return them to the other 2 for normal function.

2. What you're describing seems more like a dead motherboard battery. Replace it and the computer should hold the time and date.

Gateway GT5228 booting problem

"Also after I try to turn it on after a couple of unsuccessful tries, it actually boots and the machine works fine". This maybe cause by the hardware problem. And it usually caused by the motherboard. Changing the motherboard unit may solve the problem. But make sure you've already done the basic test on all of your hardware before changing it with a new one.
