Go to the RockBox software site. RockBox is provided freely by an end-user created and supported group and is a wonderfully evolved software replacement for quite a few portable music-playing machines. Your Archos Jukebox recorder is long out of warranty, so there's NO downside in updating it by installing the most current version of RockBox. That will greatly extend the capabilities of your machine.
Then download the RockBox user Manual! That will be your new Archos JukeBox Recorder User Manual. You'll be able to select what you hear by one of two control strategies: File names or by Playlists. You'll be able to adjust playback sound in new and more powerful ways than just using the equalizer. Also it will allow you to control playback "pitch" or speed, so you can hear lectures or books at a higher playback speed. Human retention actually improves when playback speed is increased some. You can print out the RockBox pdf. format manual if you'd like or you can study it on line. Lots of choices.
Good luck with your "obsolete" Archos JukeBox. I actually prefer the earlier models which were powered by four rechargeable AA cells rather than those with the replaceable lithium battery. I know someone who ran one of these continually for more than a year to provide background music, plugged into a wall-wart charger and his sound system. Durable! John
Jukebox is no longer supported by Yahoo. You may be able to access the mp3 files using windows media player or creative's media explorer but beware that creative's software is often locked out by WMP version 11.
I couldn't find any software that could make your mp4 works, but if you have windows XP you don't need to have a Cd. The computer by itself recognize it. Also if you have the cable just plug it in the new computer and he will recognize it if it is windows XP. but if you have Windows Vista you will have to buy the Disc. I hope my answer helped you .. Thank you
Plug your MOSMP036 into your USB port on your computer. Find it in "Device Manager". Double click on it then go to "Driver". Click on "Update Driver", then on "Next" then "Next" again and again to search for suitable driver.
DO NOT INSTALL the driver it says is nearest match but click on the "Install one of the other drivers box and click "Next". Select the driver for USB mass storage device and click next.
You will now be able to find your MP3 player's disc in Widows Explorer where you can create folders and copy and move files at will. Just remember when you have finished to go into MOS Jukebox, click on Sync the on File and then on Exit, otherwise your player menu will not display your songs as you have installed them.
Iuse my MOSMP036 to back up my important computer files!
