Why do I have duplicate authorizations for a single purchase?
Question : Answer : A Several things can contribute to PayPal receiving duplicate authorizations for a single transaction. The main reason is the merchant submits the card number more than once. The merchant can run the card number again if they receive a message that indicates no response. This happens when a response is given but the merchant doesn't receive it within the allotted time frame.
You may see a duplicate transaction when a merchant sends in the final charge with information different from the original preauthorized charge. This results in a pending authorization and a completed transaction from the same merchant.
The duplicate authorization expires on the fifth day after the charge. A credit added back to your PayPal account balance.

log into your paypal acc. you will see all of your current transactions also a view all of my transactions shortcut bar if its not located in your most current transaction list click on the view all of my transactions shortcut
youhave to select dates ranging from the current to a specific date
open up a dispute in resolution tab you will have to find this transaction and copy the details down (date/item no/etc...(write them down) make a list of problems you have with the seller to make a claim other than that

the seller or you can contact the seller and tell them of them problem to try and resolve the matter
without involving paypal remember there is a time limit on days before you will
not be able to make a claim.

I'm a PayPal user too and I had the same question the first time I made a transaction with them, it's best if you check your email Inbox and allow 24-48 hours, they will send an update on your transaction and it's a good thing that you have your order number you can alway check your transaction status once you log in PayPal.com.
Login to your paypal and view the purchase history. If the purchase is not listed in the history then it's most likely that the payment hasn't been taken. There must be some fault during the authentication. Pay it again from ebay. anyway, you can always claim paypal for any unwanted payments made.
If you log into your paypal account and go to my account.You should be able to view transactions that are being processed or pending. If the the payment was funded with a bank account additional time may be necessary to before it may post.
