What is the model of the computer?

  • Lee Rienerson Feb 08, 2012

Thanks, I finally figured out how to remove all of the drives, etc., to get to the keyboard screws. I just wanted to pull the hard drive and destroy it before I recycled the computer.

Why not just run over the darn thing with a car or hit it with a sledge hammer.

  • Lee Rienerson Feb 09, 2012

I certainly wish I had received the smart *** comment from Mr. Wei before I asked the question. I did use the sledge hammer on the hard drive after I got it out, but you should know perfectly well that running over the laptop with my car would NOT damage the hard drive unless my car was an Abrams Tank..

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

"no camera found" when connecting to mac

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

Try the WD USB hard drive in another computer. If you can access your data on another computer then backup your data.
If the WD USB hard drive is faulty then -
It is not possible to recover data from faulty hard drivesby mortals such as you and I.
There are companies that can recover data from faulty and damaged hard drivesBUT they wll charge an arm and a leg for their services.

Hi,

Have you tried removing the hard drive from its enclosure & connecting it directly to your PC?

It could just be the enclosure that's faulty.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Best wishes,
