Question about Vizio E322VL 32 in. LCD TV

1 Answer

My VIZIO E322VL turns off, what needs to be replaced?

When I Turn my TV the picture freezes, -then the sound continues for 1 minute w/the frozen picture -then the TV turns off -then the vizio logo blinks orange for 2-3 minutes -then the TV turns back on and is fine -it does this every time we turn it on. Is the bulb going out or?

unpluging the TV doesn't fix it, if you do it will only speed up the process, bypassing the frozen picture with sound stage, upon plugging the TV back in it will continue through the steps, blinking orange for 2-3 minutes and then turn on and work fine, its like it has to warm up, but it does this every time the TV is turned on, even if it's 30 minutes apart from turning the TV on.

SOURCE: Vizio E550VL won't turn on. The vizio logo just flashes orange.

Good day!!!!

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

SOURCE: Power is there, but TV won't turn on

stored voltages are high no touching these circuts becuase they hold charges and alot of screws.
fualty capacitors you say after a while it stays on theres a full charge in the unit theres some type of discharging effect on the set after its off for a while. voltage goes to low or unstable after it is off for a while. your better off getting the service docs for this set if you want to diy..other wise get a tv tech to check it for you. hope this helps

SOURCE: Upon powering on my xvt47sv

The main board of this Vizio is known to fail after some use.

Its number is CBPF9D1KZ4 and as you will see it is hard to find, unless you want to pay $250 or so, which doesn't make any sense, at least to me.

Another common failure in those is the T-CON board, but from the sound of it the problem you have is in the main board.

Here's what I'd do if I were you: post a local ad on Craigslist, sell it to the highest bidder and use the money towards puchasing a new TV.

Not sure it's what you want to hear, but it's what I tell some customers and thus losing business that I couldn't have had anyway because it's insanely expensive and prone to more failures anyway.

If it helps you please vote for me - it helps me in turn :-)

Son was using x-box with a Vizio 32" tv (E322VL) and the picture froze up but the sound kept playing. He could use the TV controls at all. Is it the TV or the x-box. Thanks for your help!!

Sounds like the x-box. Try hooking up a DVD player to it and see if you can get a picture from it.
Restart the x-box, and maybe get a can of air to blow the dust out of it.
