Question about Wacom Bamboo Fun 8.5" x 5.3" USB Tablet with Cordless Pen and Mouse - Black

1 Answer

Pen continues to draw without pressure, simply by movement.

My pen has recently started malfunctioning, & i have no idea what the issue could be, nor how to fix it. :/ I've searched up EVERYTHING on google to see i anyone has the same issue, but no such luck.
When having photoshop open, i'll drag my pen across the screen WITHOUT actually applying pressure; lines show up on the screen as if i were though.
Because i was using my laptop before, i figured it was because of my laptop, so i moved over to the other computer in my house, & it did the same thing!
This irritates me greatly, because i've only just bought my tablet. {it's only been a few months.} i've not spilt anything on it, or dropped it, or anything! any possible solution to this?

Make sure that you do not have anything around you that has blue-tooth or a blue-tooth option. Cell phones, mp3's etc. These can give off false electromagnetic signals causing it to think that you did something that you did not do.

SOURCE: My pen wont respond on the tablet

No software aside from drivers are necessary. The Genius Tablet comes a configuration menu you can test. If you don't have this, you can get it for free from Genius' website.

You need to hold the pen close to the tablet to allow it to detect movement. I hold my pen <1cm from the surface. You may want to check the batteries.

SOURCE: Pressure sensitivity problem in Photoshop CS3

OK, I found the problem -- if you open photoshop with the mouse (whether it be through the quicklaunch bar, start menu, or desktop icon), the pressure sensitivity doesn't work. If you open it with the stylus or function button (I have a function button mapped for photoshop now because of this, since there's no icon on my tablet's display with how I have my display set up) the pressure sensitivity works fine.

A quick KIND of fix, but until Adobe actually does something about it, this is probably the easiest way to do it.

I also solved the problem by installing the driver from the website. The trick was to uninstall the old driver first.

Listen up kiddos! I had this same problem and I was troubleshooting....apparently you have to make sure you uninstall the old drivers first and delete the directory entirely, before reinstalling the software.
So, UNPLUG THE TABLET! This is the part that screwed me up... then go to start > all programs > tablet > uninstall. Run the wizard, restart, go to my computer > local disk drive > program files and delete the Genius Tablet folder. Then, install the drivers again, reboot, THEN and ONLY THEN, should you plug your tablet back in.

My Wacom seems to be confused. It's acting like an etch-a-sketch. The moment I get my pen any where near the tablet is starts drawing. It can be even an inch above and it's still continuously drawing. I...

Try resetting the preferences to the default (or factory settings). This is related to proximity or pressure function. Open the preferences (with the mouse) and adjust these. Once adjusted, swop to the pen and see if this has made a difference. Trial and error… Another issue, may be the tip has damaged, or is jammed 'on'. Using the special tool provided, remove the teflon tip and clean the pen with a mild solvent.

Pen Lag?

I had a serious lag issue with Genius Easypen F610E. You draw a square but the signal is laggy and it is unable to draw it properly. Leaves even a trace behind (see pic below with black squares). Searched the internet for solutions, it seems some others have the same issue.
Changing battery didnt help. Changing computer and OS didnt help. But its an issue of electrostatics (pen, tablet, your body) as I noticed. I needed to wrap a foil around the pen's upper part, and connect it to battery's minus terminal. That fixed the lag problem. Its not pretty, but it works.(see green squares in the picture).
It's seems to be a design flaw.

In the wacom control panel, there is a sensitivity setting. move the slider to less sensitive. this does not affect the pen pressure, only how sensitive the tablet is to recognizing the pens presence.

Pen keeps drawing when I lift it off tablet

This problem commonly occurs due to a stuck "nib" sensor (the sensor that detects pen pressure).

Take out the "nib" (important, so the sensor isn't damaged further) and whack the pen on your desk (or drop it on the floor from 3 feet up). It re-seats the "nib" sensor when it's stuck. If this doesn't work after multiple attempts, then the sensor may be too damaged.

G-Pen F610 blind spot (pen won't move over particular section)

Sometimes it is caused by a metal plate coming in contact with the sensor pad inside of the tablet. It is only fixable by dismanteling the tablet and putting an A4 sheet of paper between the back side (the one that has the metal plate which can be the culprit) and the green pad (do not touch it!). This issue usually appears after continuous use when the green sensitivity pad is pushed down a little and is short-circuited by the metal pad on the inner side.

Tablet gone insane.

I'm from ukraine, sorry my english;

Reason:
Random clicks hapens becouse moving tip not return to the front. It continue to sent chaotic pressure messages. Some times, when you start to lift pen, tip start to resilient and we have ugly dots again.

Here is solution:
May be auto silicon oil wil help by reducing rubbing. Or harder spring will help?
I use little bit of plasticine. I push it under the tip. It prevent tip from resilienting. I have no problems, since i made this.

Good luck.
