Instead of wiping the harddrive, you can run recovery by pressing F9 at start up (Asus logo) if the fabric installation is present. This can also solve the dvd-issues, try that.

19 boot loader

Hello here is the homepage:

http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=M2A-VM&p=1&s=24

Try to download the manual, by selecting your windows system.
Open the manual folder, and click on global for download.
Adobe reader, is needed to read content.

Check the bios boot settings for booting, from the dvd drive.
Dvd must be the first boot device, and hard drive the second

I have newer heard of a boot loader.

Good luck

How do I boot from a DVD with an Asus K501

The DVD needs to be bootable for a start. If not already set, the boot order needs to set in the bios for the DVD to boot first, hard drive second.

Eeepc 1001HA won't boot.

Take the battery out, leave it unplugged for a day or so... usually resets the bios for me. Sometimes though, you might have to manually unplug the cmos battery as well, that involves opening the system.

There is NO reset button, the simple thing to do, is to get a USB, to DVD dongle, hook up a DVD, pop in the DVD supplied, and it will restore itself, from boot up, First you must go into BIOS and set to boot from USB drive, and set to install in menu. then save settings and reboot, then it will boot from DVD and reinstall the OS.

Asus eeepc 900 will not reboot even with, even with the recovery dvd.

Does your BIOS allow you to boot from DVD? If not change your boot order so that the system boots from DVD first.

Boot failure asus a7v 133 motherboard installed a pci sata raid

Hi whistler1410, you need to enter your bios menu. Press the delete key every couple of seconds to load the bios menu.

Once in the bios (See instructions located at the bottom of the menu, to help you move about).
You should see all connected drives at the main menu.
This includes the SATA writer & hard disk drives.
Go to the bios menu, BOOT.
SATA drive even DVD drives are seen by the bios as a master drive. So within the BOOT menu go to "Boot device priority".
The boot priority should read as follows.

First boot device [Floppy disk drive] (If one is connected)
Second boot device [Your SATA DVD writer]
Third boot device [Your primary hard disk drive] (The drive with windows loaded on it).
If you do not have a floppy disk drive than make the first boot device your DVD writer.
Save the bios & exit the bios. You should not receive "boot disk error message anymore".

Run into a problem, post here.
Good luck whistler1410!

Sata DVD Ausus using K8V-MX

TRy to load the "optimized bios default setting" in your bios setup. If not solve the problem maybe in your windows issue.

try to boot up windows in safe mode and then start it normally and let the windows fixed the problem on it.

if still problem exist maybe you need to repair your windows installation using the new SATA DVD to resolve problem regarding the issue. or reinstall it. (Note: important files was no guarantee to retain, backup files when doing this).
