Only one possibility before getting to the heart of it - try changing the battery (AGAIN). I realize this sounds almost idiotic, but a couple of other users have reported that for some reason this has helped solve their overwhelming issue. Now for what I started to say:

I recognize that this is not going to be a popular answer, but it appears to be the "real" one. Based on the information at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Aigo-A215-1GB-MP3-player/dp/B000H2R5JK it appears that this is an extremely problem-riddled product. Not one reviewer had a positive thing to say about the player.

[There was one FAQ the one time I was successful in pulling up their web site (www.aigo.co.uk), indicating that if you had a problem getting it to come on and stay on, to make sure the holf button was not enabled. (See www.aigo.co.uk/help/faqview.php?faqID=4).]

Aigo's web site does not provide any information on these issues, ability to search for support topics, or display a link to the apparently required firmware upgrade. They do have a link to "Contact us" - however, I have spent the last hour plus atttempting to get it to load so that I could give you the proper link information. The link is apparently www.aigo.co.uk/help/faqview.php?faqID=25

So, if you can get them to give you the firmware upgrade, it may solve your issues. Otherwise, again unfortunately, it may be best to look at obtaining another player. Thanks for rating FixYa!

I used the Sandisk cruzer to backup files fron Microsoft XP. Trying to download to my new computer with Windows 7 I get the message that the data is not compatible. Is this a driver problem? What do I need...

You will need to down load the latest version of the U3 launcher @ www.sandisk.com Hope it helps, to be safe I will however suggest another backup to a XP computer, just to be safe. Good Luck.

I have a 4GB Flash that I have used in the past to backup my pics. I want to re-backup my pics but don't know if I can copy over the old stuff on the flash. Please help

well. u can create s new folder on ur flash drive and copy all ur pics ther.

or if u dnt have much space remaining and u want to copy and replace the same old files, make sure u copy the same folder on the same place on ur flash drive it will ask u for option of copy and replace if windows vista or juss copy in windows xp so select it and the old ones will remain and new ones will be copied separately.

Usb not recognised

Hello ak1979 ...

1. You're plugging in your Transend USB flash drive to your computer's USB port (as you've done many times successfully before with this SAME flash drive)?

2. It says "windows not recognise usb drive due to malfunction"?
a. Is that EXECTLY what the error says?
b. Is "it" an error dialog (window that pops up), or an error message from your Windows Event error logs? If a dialog, are there any pertinent error message entries in your Windows Event (System) log [Start > Run > type "eventvwr.msc" (without quotes), then "OK"]?

Try a bit of deductive troubleshooting:
  1. Restart (Reboot) your system [for a fresh start, if you will].
  2. Try plugging in your USB flash drive again, but in a DIFFERENT USB port.
  3. Try plugging in ANY OTHER "known good" USB device into the same USB port(s) used thus far that failed.
NOTE: If you EVER get any indication Windows recognizes the flash drive (like no error msg, or it shows in "My Computer"), IMMEDIATELY perform a "Check Disk" on it:
  1. Start > Run... > type "cmd" (without quotes), then "OK".
  2. Type "chkdsk DRIVE_LTR: /f" (without quotes), then hit "Enter" [where DRIVE_LTR is the drive letter of your USB drive]. EXAMPLE: chkdsk E: /f
Good luck, and please post back:
  • to provide any corrections/updates/clarifications.
  • if you have any further questions.
  • to let me know how things work out.
