Question about Windsor SR12 Sensor Bagged Upright Vacuum

Open Question

Dirt Devil MVP Swivel Glide turning off

My Dirt Devil upright swivel glide vacumm keeps turning off after about 5 minutes of being on. The clog light indicator comes on once the vacumm has turned off. I have replaced the bag and am still having the same problem. Is there something I'm missing here? What can the problem be?

Thanks,
Ben

Sounds like you have a clog. Either in the hose, and down below where the inlet is. I assume your brush roll is working, if not you may need a new belt.

You might unhook the belt, if it still sounds real loud, then the motor is bad and will have to replaced.

SOURCE: How do I repalce the belt on Dirt Devil Swivel Glide upright vac?

Four screws hold the bottom plate in place. Turn the vac upside down and remove the screws that hold the cover(bottom plate) over the brush roll in place. Remove the plate and you are there.

look on the underside where the brush roller is and unplug it first then try to turn the brush roller by hand,if it turns real freely the belt is broke.you might have a clog at your intake hose at the bottom its the clear looking hose that goes from the bottom and comes up the back.if the belt is broke before you put a new one on clean the motor shaft there might be some old belt rubber on it ,otherwise the new belt won't last

It could be a broken handle release, but it also could be the the clamps where the handle asm, and the base hold together came use, this will cause this problem on some Dirt Devils. The top has to come off to check this out.
