How to find the hidden dialog box

When I try to open MS Word 2003 I get a message that I first have to close the dialog box. I press "OK" then the document appears however there is no open dialog box. What I do see, though, is that the "My Documents" folder icon indicates "open" yet there are no open Word documents.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: documents to go patch for office 2007

Just delete the Priority dword registry key used by the DocsToGoConduit.dll
Mine was under:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop\Application9]
Yours could be in a similar location...
Just search for the "DocsToGoConduit.dll" string on your registry and you will find the location of the Priority Key.

Hope it works.

SOURCE: The File Conversion Format Select

You have opened a document in Word that it cannot recognise.

If you are opening a file that is not a word document, you will need to right click on it and choose Open With and select the relevant program.

If you are opening a Word document created in a newer version (Office 2007) you will need to download a converter from the Microsoft Office Website:

Finally, if the document is one that you have created with Word 2003, then it may have become corrupted. You can attempt a repair by opening Word, File>Open Select the document and then where it says "Open", click on the little arro next to it and choose "Open and Repair". If this does not work then it is corrupted beyond repair.

Hope that helps, pls rate the solution

My computer keeps saying I have a dialog box open . what do I do

It means a small message box is requesting your attention. It may be hidden underneath other windows. If you hold the ALT key and press the TAB key at the same time you can cycle through the windows that are currently open. Usually the dialog box will be something like "Are you sure you want to quit" or "Would you like to save before exiting".

How to close dialog box that will not close

There is probably another dialog open that is preventing you from closing the one visible on your screen. try pressing [ALT]+[TAB] to see if you can make it visible.

The other option is to open Task Manager and locate the application/process that's generating the dialog and end it.

I can't open my emails because the dialog box is open, how do i close it

Hold down the ALT key on your keyboard, and press/release the TAB key,
to display any window that is "hidden" behind the front window on your screen.
If it is a "dialog" window (asking 'OK' or 'NEXT?' or 'CANCEL'), close the window.
If it is not a dialog window, use ALT-TAB again to view the next window. Repeat.

Troubleshooting MS Word 2003 XP

Hold down your ALT key, and touch the TAB key.
You'll see a list of "open" windows.
Touch the TAB key again, and the "outline" rectangle around one item in the list will move to the next item.
Release the ALT key to "focus" on the window.
If it is a "dialog" window (with 'yes' or 'no' or 'cancel' buttons),
close the window.

Repeat the hold-down-the-ALT-and-touch-TAB until you have closed the "dialog" window that is "blocking" Word.
